Flight

Flying

They tell me that the flying dream
will free us from the bonds of earth;
uplifting thought to me it seems -
I have to guess at what it’s worth.

The only time I took to flight,
I had to flap with all my might,
and never quite attained the heights -
the tree tops caught me on that night.
