PROMPT: September 14th - It's said that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Describe something that you think is beautiful or attractive that someone else might consider unattractive or ugly.

Turned brown
by nature's cold kiss
one-by-one petals fall to the ground.

Once brightly colored blossoms succumb
to their inevitable demise,
revealing
new degree of beauty
in their slow transformation
from life to death.

Brown petals cover the ground
keeping still living roots warm
as winter
takes its toll
upon the land.

In spring
decomposed petals feed
another generation
of colorful blossoms.
