This treatise is the result of a visit to church 1-18-09, and a song that became the root for the acrostic Worthy Is The Lamb, on 1-19-09 the second acrostic was gelled into the first.

I wrote the original version of this tribute to the troops while Operation Desert Storm and Desert Shield were going on.
In Belton, Texas a veteran was stationed on a bridge and vowed to remain there until the troops were returned home. I finally got up my nerve to take that original copy and give it to him.
Over the years I have attempted to get it into a card size so I can hand it out to the veterans, or active duty troops I come across.
The background was the view we had in our hospital room when Rhonda received the pacemaker that she has now. It is a wall of crosses and it reminded us then that we were not alone. And serves as the backdrop for this acrostic assuring them that the Lord is watching over them too.
Serving Him by serving you!

You have the ability to make people fall in love with you, but only after you kiss them/ What creative way are you going to get that kiss that doesn't make you sound like a crazed fanatic? Knowing you have this power, would you kiss more than one person?

Actually I've already kissed the one I will always kiss until one of us passes away.
It's a good premise and I look forward to seeing some of the responses to this one.
There are some singles out there, and it'd be good to see some of the married folks in the mix of this prompt.

Rhonda is the one the Lord showed me.
He literally said "this is your wife."
Oh man was i surprised and too shy to say anything.
Nigh on six months passed before I asked her out.
Didn't have a vehicle then but our friend took us to a wrestling match.
A first date to remember and a kiss that started it all.

RHONDA is the lass, and I am the grateful hubby to babs.

Oh wow it's already October.
Can you believe just 10 months ago it was January 2016?
Taking a look back reveals some things.
Out of a car for 3 months, then out of the blue a white truck is donated.
Battle to go to Oklahoma to no avail to see a waterfall.
Experiencing a fulfillment of a bucket list item at the Fort Worth Zoo,
Raining waterfalls, not just one but so many that the Lord blessed this writer with.

All of this and more before the month of October. Who knows what the Lord has in store for the final three months of the year? Not me. But the adventure is on. Come join and know more about the Copes and the adventures of life.

I'm thirsty.
My solution is grabbing a bottle of water.

This is normal and when your body needs water quench it.
Here we were resting and watching the boob tube.
In the blink of an eye, another commercial.
Really the world has gone to the dumps.
See this commercial was hyping water with alcohol added.
The premise of the commercial stinks, in my opinion.
You see, we are being told that water is not enough, it's useless.

I'm Thirsty and just downright dumbfounded as to why someone want's to add alcohol to something that quenches your thirst just fine with no additives needed.

I'm thirsty and not reaching for an alcohol polluted bottle of water. Does that make me weird? Nope! It makes me practical and choosing not to add alcohol to something that doesn't even need it.

25 Flog a mocker, and the simple will learn prudence;
rebuke the discerning, and they will gain knowledge. Proverbs 19

Your reaction to correction can go two ways. You take the punishment and fume over it, getting madder and madder. Your heart will be hardened; in other words; and the discipline will be all for naught.
Or you can think about the reason for the correction and consider how you could have avoided what you did to cause the discipline. By doing this you are defusing the "anger of being disciplined" and using discipline to learn what not to do in the future.

Here's to learning from discipline and having a better life filled with less need for rebuking and correction. It's a lot better then for you and the person who metes out the discipline.

1 To humans belong the plans of the heart,
but from the Lord comes the proper answer of the tongue.
2 All a person’s ways seem pure to them,
but motives are weighed by the Lord. Proverbs 16

What are your motives?

In my Daily Bread this verse stood out to me. What does it say to you?

17 Unlike so many, we do not peddle the word of God for profit. On the contrary, in Christ we speak before God with sincerity, as those sent from God. 2 Corinthians 2

To me this means that we are sent as ambassadors of Christ rightly dividing the Word of God and sharing it with others so they too may know His mighty grace and love. Amen and amen.

Jack London said,"You can't wait for inspiration, you have to go after it with a club." Do you agree or disagree? What inspires you the most?

I'd have to disagree. Because if you hit an ideal too hard you'll knock it right out of your head. *BigSmile*
For me what inspires the most is what I find around me, and what presents itself to me in interaction with people I run into during my day.
As an example, a lot of my writing is done at work. As a cashier I encounter between 50 to 150 people in a single nights work. Some of them are so brief and nondescript. Others are full of emotion as they tell me about their life and what might be going on at the time. As things slow down and I settle into the daily tasks, each customer that comes in presents another opportunity to meet a need and to be inspired by them.
These moments of potential inspiration were not forced, they happened naturally and in the end inspired some of the best things I've ever written. Not my opinion, the opinion of others who see the end results of them here in the WdC and elsewhere.
You are beloved!

The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life,
turning a person from the snares of death. Proverbs 14:27

A fountain of life - Now that's awesome. Can you see the fountain flowing and covering the bowl, then running over the edge onto the next bowl below. Like a never ending stream of awe, respect, and honor of the Lord, bringing wisdom to teach us the way to go.

In my Daily Bread this morning these three verses stood out to me. This was just after Jesus' disciples turned from Him except for 12 who stayed with Him. I cannot help but shed a tear for those who walked away, because they are not in the heavenly realms, but lost forever in the pits of hell.

67 “You do not want to leave too, do you?” Jesus asked the Twelve.

68 Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. 69 We have come to believe and to know that you are the Holy One of God.”

Do you know Him as the Holy One of God? The one who came from the heavenly realms, was hung upon a cross to die a horrible death, and then to rise in 3 days, and appeared to His disciples and others letting them know they are no longer ever alone because they believe in the Lord and Savior who was sent from on high?

If I could ask you to do just one thing today, it would be to read the story of Jesus in the Gospel of Matthew from the beginning to the end. Within those chapters the Holy One of God is revealed in the flesh and in the spirit when He returned after being resurrected from the dead! Please.

10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,
and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
11 For through wisdom your days will be many,
and years will be added to your life.
12 If you are wise, your wisdom will reward you;
if you are a mocker, you alone will suffer.
Proverbs 9:10-12

A difference in the quality of life of the wise person and one who is a mocker. Which do you choose?
Once again in verse 10 the "fear" is about the awe, respect, and honor that is due the Father God. It is not abject fear, afraid of the wrath of God.

I was reading in the Daily Bread in 1 John and he makes it clear that God's Love (agape in the Greek) is what it's all about. It's that love of God that sent the Son to the cross to die for our sins. That love that created the sun and the moon, as reminders of Him watching over us day and night.
You are beloved!

Those who give to the poor will lack nothing,
but those who close their eyes to them receive many curses. Proverbs 28:27

Please be willing to help others as you are able. Ignoring them hurts them and yourself as well.
It doesn't have to be monetary help all the time. If someone needs help, and you have the means to help, then do it.
The truck we recently received will provide opportunity to help others in ways a car might not otherwise help.
Utilizing the things you have to help others is tantamount to keeping this verse in your heart.

I was reading in Psalm 119 this morning and this verse stuck out. It affirms the importance of keeping His words in your heart, including Proverbs 28:27

Your word is a lamp for my feet,
a light on my path.
(verse 105)
