Still getting organized, I see.

Bereft and yearning. The "O" is a clever inclusion. There's almost a double conotation with still. to be patient and still and to still persevere. I don't know whether or not that was intentional, but it caught my attention.

Very effective - I can somewhat relate. *sigh*

Alfred: I'll have to think about this. It was the least favorite Thursday. Could be divided into separate parts and/or linked. The style is somewhat rambling though... It's closer to "slow poetry".

Ken: Typos are a bane of a writer's existence. Thanks.

This is a bit long... and the least favorite of the four read Thursday night. It could probably be pruned or divided into three separate or linked prose poems. We'll see.

I liked this. I'm not sure I agree with Le Troubadour about the rambling of the beginning. It is what it is.

"... and welcomed its imminent arrival." Sorry: I rarely leave its/it's errors unflagged, as they drive me to distraction. I know, I know... don't sweat the small stuff...

Excellent imagery and a compelling moment captured! Yes, the turn of phrase is inspirational, perhaps you could turn it into a challenge for us lesser scribes.

The beginning rambles too much and needs to be expanded so that each idea has its true place.

THEN, you write the ending; from "And so I begged..." is perfectly written.
