Day to day stuff....a memoir without order.

Imagination is described by Webster as...The act or power of forming a mental image of something not present to the senses in reality. Albert Einstein said "Logic will get you from A to B, but imagination will take you everywhere."

I never realized it until I read it somewhere but there are ways to boost one's imagination:

Create a visual journal
Draw whatever you see for 15 minutes a day. You don't need to be an artist.

Think like an artist
Cut out pictures from magazines & piece them together to create an original image.

Listen to Bach
Close your eyes while playing your favorite music. Or listen to the sounds of nature on a CD or in the great outdoors.

Play word games
Try thinking of as many words as you can that begin with MAR...or you pick.

Daydream
Let your mind wander, or focus on a single object & study its characteristics.

Everyone has a story....here's mine.....c

1986 and 1988, Two years from the 80s that were memorable... not for good reasons. Overall though, the 80s were a mostly positive decade. The 90s were better in some ways. The Aughts? It's complicated.

I try to stay present. Travel demands that. This week I've been visiting places that are new to me. That keeps me aware. Part of me just wants to go to Roi Et, a place I really like, and rest.

It sounds like you had an interesting meeting. I know you call it a Life History Group, but I also noticed that the attendees you spoke of were women. Are men not allowed in the group? Not that I would join you, I'm still stuck in Illinois. I was only wondering about men in the group.

My passport picture ain't pretty. I just ignore it. As long as anyone looking at it doesn't scream, I'm good to go.

I'll need it when I travel to Thailand next month.

Lists... do I have lists? I should tackle whatever is doable today.

Nice! Prince Edward Island? I have not heard of that place. I'm not sure where I want to visit. I love London. And Edinburgh was special.

I still haven't gotten with idea that football season starts when it's in the 90's or that it lasts beyond Abe's and George's birthday.

Was in Chareleston SC last spring, supposedly the birthplace of shecrab soup. I'm more a barbeque guy myself.

Proper planning, even if two weeks, usually ensures success. Congratulations!

Start figuring out what you'll charge if any of the neighbors saw and want you to work some of their limbs.

Friends and Family Time

Great attendance for our Writing Your Life History Group year-end get-together with all kinds of goodies including a mulled German wine. Who knew warm wine was good? Most of the stories read were about a remembered Christmas, tears and smiles all around. The temp in the 50s didn't seem to keep anyone away.

Tomorrow one of my grand daughters has her annual family get-together, lots of kids, dogs, presents, and an entire ham dinner. She lives on a scenic historical road (Bellamy Road) and I do enjoy the ride there. But today I must get busy, some shopping to do. The holidays are such a great time of the year especially for senior citizens who have family nearby. We may be sort of forgotten the rest of the year but never in December.
