Denial is a condition prevalent among addicts that denies that a problem exists. There can be a total disaster around them and in their minds, it is perfectly normal. The only way to break the denial is to allow reality to slap them in the face. Do not help them out in their addiction. Do not fix their messes or pay their bills. Losing everything will bring down the denial.
