Wonderful poem that links footprints to bits and pieces of our memories over the years.
As we get older, we do leave a mark behind - footprints if you will - and even as they fade away, they'll always linger and be a reminder of what we once were.

Scorpion skittering away in the darkness and dust,
the first and last of my experience,
and so small, so scared of my looming presence.
So much for hallowed reputations,
as if your frightened and miniature existence,
less than an inch in old money,
could live up to the tales of your poisonous intent.
