The second of my collections of poems written for "Express It In Eight."

As usual these days, I choose blog format because it offers more space for the work.

Punch and Judy Show

Oh, don’t point your finger -
I’m really not to blame,
and, if doubts should linger,
just look beyond the game.

and see who pulls the strings -
the man behind the booth,
he causes all these things.

Curiosity

It killed the cat,
enlarged my nose,
named an old shop,
and more than those

made me wonder,
once too often,
who, what and why,
I’m left coughing.

Gravity Defied

Oh, mister Daddy Longlegs,
eight spindly legs akimbo,
wavering in indecision,
undecided where to go,
do you dream of lazy cobwebs
dangling from a darkened ceiling,
and will you skitter on the wall,
to leave the ladies all a-reeling?
