“Oh no!” I cried. “I just remembered Randy and I were supposed to hang out today!
“Well, not anymore,” Amanda grinned as she took me out of the water. “Don’t worry; Jessica will take care of everything.”
“But we had plans,” Randy’s voice boomed.
“I’m sorry,” Jessica’s voice argued. “He uh headed off to…”
“Outta my way!”
My friend Randy was a bodybuilder on the school wrestling team and never took no for an answer. “What’s going on?” Amanda asked as she wrapped me in a towel.
“I uh…” I stammered.
There was a loud thud followed by Jessica screaming, “Oh my God!”
Amanda rushed through the house with me in her arms, and we found Jessica standing over my best friend’s limp body. “What did you do?” Amanda demanded.
“He was asking too many questions!” Jessica cried.
“You murdered my best friend!” I screamed.
“What’s going on?” A new voice exclaimed. I only noticed an old cardboard box labeled “Amanda & Jessica Toys,” and something was moving inside the container.
“What did you do?” Amanda asked, this time more accusingly than panicking.
“He was gonna find out!” Jessica defended.
“Why didn’t you just change his memory?” Amanda demanded.
“I panicked!” Jessica reminded, “So, I took his mentality and put it in the closest object.”
