Your skin glistens in the sunlight but not as much as your scales. Where you expect two legs is instead a long purple fish tail. It reaches past the point where feet would be and ends in a wide fin of a lighter shade. In a panic you foolishly try to stand. Your tail flops up and down as you struggle to settle it. Something else flops as well. a set of perky breasts, encased in a length of stretchy black fabric wound tightly about your chest. A similar material is around your wide hips, hiding where your two halves meet. Though a few scales do creep up past the sides of your waist. New small hands dart about, feeling the rubbery clothing and the feminine curves they now concealed.
Your astonished investigation of your body is halted by laughter. Flipping over, you spot the purple eyed woman standing there with a devilish grin. The rage she expressed before was totally gone. Her voice is like sharp ice.
"You turned out beautifully. So tell me how you feel dear."
You glare and open your mouth to respond, but end up hacking out a cough before managing a raspy response.
"What have you done to me? Huuuuh! I can barely breath!"
Grasping at your throat, you feel rows of bloodless slits on either side. They shutter as you take shallow gasping breaths. Your face falls to the ground where you squirm in discomfort. Black spots form in your eyes. Something wet clamps loosely around your neck. This time, as you take another breath, water rushes through your gills. The sensation is odd, yet a huge relief. You find you are able to breath normally and take some deep breaths. When you speak your voice sounds silly. Like a girl attempting to gargle water while speaking at the same time.
"What the fuck is this?"
"Oh, that? Just a simple sea charm. soak that collar in salt water once a day and you won't have a problem breathing even in the driest desert."
"Shut up you clever bitch! You know what I mean. I want my body back now!"
"And I want my circle back. But you took that from me, as I have taken your body from you. Yes, it merits me nothing. But destroying my work merited you nothing either. Now we are both unhappy. Though, I suppose we could reach an agreement. Put your new form to use. I will transport you to the ocean, and you will recover a powerful magical artifact for me. If you do this, I promise to return your humanity to you."
You fume, unable to speak. You do your best to settle. A struggle you could lose at any moment. Aside from curse her out, what could you do? Accept her offer despite never having even seen the ocean. Perhaps never to return. She did seem willing to deal. The two of you might be able to reach another arrangement. If she was not insulted by your rejection of her generous offer.
