The sound of wheels and horse hooves on the dirt road was the only things you hear as the carriage went along. You are a nineteen year old boy was currently studying in the zoology course at Heidelberg University, Ever since you were a young boy you were fascinated by the natural world and all it's plants and animals, which is why you choose zoology as your course.
When your professor gave you an assignment to go to a forested area to do research on the animal and plant life, you choose a large forest near the small village of Marbaden, believing it to be a perfect place to gather information on the plant and animal life there as the forest itself was mostly unexplored.
Of course when you first heard about the forest you also heard the strange tales surrounding it, the forest being enchanted, girls going missing, mud monsters and even a horse that swallowed a girl whole, of course being a young man of science you never believed in anything involving the supernatural.
Upon arriving at your destination you gather your satchel and exited the carriage. Looking around you noticed how somewhat rundown the village is, typical of any remote settlement.
