You are a Silvally. And you are alive.
That’s all you know about yourself right now.
You have no memories, save for a blurred image of a clean and white space with tall figures standing over you. The place you are now isn’t anything like that. It’s green, and dirty, and you’re the only one here. You don’t remember how you got here, only that you’ve been traipsing around this unfamiliar environment for 23 minutes with no interesting occurrences to show for it. You lift one of your taloned forelegs and inspect the gritty substance that sticks obnoxiously underneath your claws. A gentle wind blows and a leaf flutters down and lands on your head. You inspect it for a moment before shaking it off. More inanimate objects causing you inconvenience. Is this what life is like? It’s so arbitrarily frustrating and empty of purpose.
You hear a loud growl from your skinny middle region, which startles you briefly. That’s the most interesting noise you’ve heard in 24 minutes! And it came from you! Why?
You sit down and prod your belly with your front claws, trying to find an answer. You become aware of an odd sensation within you. It feels like… emptiness. A space that you need to fill. But how are you supposed to put things inside of your belly?
You look down at your snout and open your maw, then shut it again. That certainly seems like the obvious answer.
But what should you put inside yourself? There are plenty of objects around here, but none are very attractive. You look around skeptically, seeing only more of the mundane green and brown stuff you’ve been wandering through this whole time. Your life has a purpose now, but it’s no less frustrating than before.
Suddenly a blur of color catches your attention. It’s a color that isn’t green or brown. It’s purple. Is this the answer to your problems?!
The purple thing dashes from underneath one bush to the next, then wiggles through some foliage out of your sight. You notice that it has four legs like you, but it’s much smaller and looks different. It has big ears and a curly tail. As you begin to follow it, your instincts activate. You creep low to the ground, slowly and quietly, toward the last location you saw it.
It’s staying still now, staring at a bush covered in round blue things a short distance ahead. Blue things, interesting! Is it trying to sneak up on the blue things like you’re sneaking up on it? Well, you’ll sneak faster!
You pounce on the purple critter and pin it with your claws. It immediately lets out a squeak and starts squirming to get away from you. It seems distressed. Why?
You lift the critter up to head height, dangling it by its tail. It squeaks again upon meeting your gaze and wriggles furiously, to no avail. It’s not even as annoying as a leaf.
This purple creature is very afraid of me. That’s too bad. I hope it doesn’t mind too much that I use it to fill myself.
You hoist the critter above your open jaws and lower it in without further contemplation. As it hits your tongue, you receive a gratifying burst of flavor that spreads all over the inside of your mouth, causing your saliva to well up rapidly. Suddenly you want to swallow the creature much more than before. Fascinating! This was definitely the right thing to do.
You proceed without hesitation, gulping the critter’s head into your throat and filling your maw with its conveniently sized body. It fits perfectly inside your mouth, allowing you room to slurp all over it and draw out its satisfying flavor. Soon, another swallow sends the wigging creature halfway down your throat, leaving only its tail outside your jaws. You shut your mouth and slurp in the tail as one of your front legs rubs the bulge in the underside of your neck. This feels good. You wish you had more critters to swallow after this one.
You tilt your head back and, with a final glurk, send that wiggly bulge sliding down your neck. It plops into your belly with a blorp and creates a slight sag in your previously skinny middle region. It feels even better down there! Your emptiness is gone. You’ve fulfilled your purpose in life!
You lie down to enjoy your achievement, your claws rubbing and gripping the twitching bulge in your belly. Soon you start to get a new feeling. The place the creature occupies inside you gets all tingly, and some odd pulsations start up in your middle region. Your claws continue to squeeze the bulge as it becomes softer, and within minutes any semblance of solidity is gone. It’s just a round, squishy black lump. Very fun to play with.
But soon, that lump starts to shrink away from your busy claws! Where’s it going?
You continue to feel around your stomach with concern as your plaything disappears, leaving your belly as flat as ever. The creature escaped! But where?
Your claws roam all around your body until finally settling on your backside, which feels just a little bit softer than before. You pinch and squeeze your rump and thighs thoroughly just to make sure.
Yup, that’s where the purple thing went to hide. How strange. And interesting!
You become aware that the purple thing you just ate was called Rattata. What an odd name. Not at all like Silvally. You also become aware of the fact that you ate it. The Rattata is no longer a Rattata, but simply more of you! Fascinating. That’s what it was trying to avoid by squirming away from you!
But why? Being me isn’t so bad. It’s much better than being a Rattata, I’m sure.
All of this knowledge seeps into your consciousness from the absorbed rodent. You become aware of the roles of predator and prey, of day to day life, of the creatures and objects that populate the world. It’s all extremely interesting.
You quickly decide that you want to be a predator. By devouring other creatures, you can learn more things, grant them the joy of becoming a Silvally, and increase the size of your butt! It’s a win for everyone!
Your ears rotate as you pick up a distant snapping sound from behind. That’s odd. Could your ears rotate before? You’re pretty sure they couldn’t hear that distantly, either. Fascinating!
New feature(s) acquired:
-Mouselike Hearing
You decide to sneak up on the noise like you did with the Rattata, in the event it turns out to be another creature you can devour. To your continued excitement, you spot another non-green object through the trees. And it’s…
