Chapter #5Your wild savior, Benga by: Unknown Everything’s dark, and your back hurts for some reason. You can’t see where you’re going at all. It feels like you’ve been walking for days.
Finally, you see a light at the end of the tunnel you’re in. You run further and further, finally… tripping out of the strange tunnel and into a thick patch of something firm-yet-flimsy.
You look up and realize that you just ran out of a huge log, and nearly fall back to the ground in shock. You look around you and realize you’re standing in a patch of grass, stretching up above you. The grass isn’t miles high, but it’s terrifying to think that you’re barely even half as tall as a single blade of grass now.
You look around more, noticing the forest around you and a giant tree in the distance, stretching up higher in the sky than any building you’ve ever seen.
You feel the ground shake, and fall to the ground in a panic. You look up and see a massive sandal move across the grass you’re in, narrowly avoiding you. You see the giant person moving away from you, and get a good look at him. He’s thin, average height, somewhat muscular (if his arms are any indicator), a lover of the outdoors indicated by his backpack having food and tools sticking out of the top, and the most noteworthy detail is his wild and fiery orange-and-red colored hair, resembling an actual fire. Then it dawns on you: This is Benga, the grandson of former unova champion Alder! He can help you out for sure!
You begin chasing after him, barely keeping up due to your size. You keep running and running, until finally you come across a campsite just as the sun falls over the horizon. You find an orange tent, a few wooden logs cut like stools, and a big fire with a cooking set-up nearby. A pot sits atop the flame, presumably filled with the fiery god’s meal. You hear some noise from inside the tent, and look in through the flap of the tent.
There you see Benga, still in his clothes from earlier, setting up a sleeping bag.His sandals and bag lay in the corner, and his pokéball sash sits in a different corner. You watch him work, and get a good glimpse of his feet, specifically his dirty soles, covered in sweat and dirt.
He grabs a pair of long, thick (and admittedly very filthy and thrashed, as you can see from your hiding spot) socks and places them atop his sleeping bag. “These should keep me warm at night…” he says to himself.
He then gets up and turns in your direction, and you jump out of the way as he leaves the tent and sits down near the fire.
You run into the tent to stay hidden, and begin to think. Maybe you should wait here for him. But then again it’s getting cold… Maybe laying in the socks he took out will help keep you warm for now. What will you do? indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
