Most elvish practitioners of magic rely on the tomes collected and prepared by their predecessors.

There are a few, though, who can trace their lineage back to the High Elves of Ancient Days, who have an inherent talent for magic.

You are one such person.

Of course, it still takes training to learn how to harness and direct your inherent ability. And it takes focus.

Which leads to your first quest: a focus crystal.

A focus crystal is a translucent pink to rose-red variety of quartz. Under normal circumstances, it would be considered a semiprecious stone. However, if the focus crystal has the right internal structure, it allows a Gul to further develop and expand her powers.
