Arcanine looks away from Hypno, his expression dipping into a scowl. Then, he looks over at Eevee, "If I say yes, will I end up like him?"
Hypno shrugs, "That would depend on what I find and how you react to what I find. What I discovered for Eevee is doubtless deeply disturbing. He is coming to terms with it. Whether that will be to accept what I told him or deny it, he will decide. If that does occur for you as well, I shall ensure you two may safely rest here and consider."
The fire dog maintains his gaze on the Normal-type for a few moments longer, then looks back at Hypno, "Since I am here, fine. Do it."
The yellow Pokemon raises his hand, displaying his pendulum, "To do so, I will need you to lower your guard. Simply follow my pendulum and I shall do the rest."
Arcanine considers saying something, but holds his tongue. He does as Hypno asks and focuses his attention on the pendulum as it swings back and forth. Left and right.
Eevee scowls and shakes his head. He needs to get out of his own head. Why is this getting to him so much? It's not like anything really changed. He still doesn't remember anything. And now he knows that he no longer needs to worry about that because there is nothing to remember. So why does Hypno's revelation bother him so much?
Eevee already knows the answer to that question even as he thinks of it. It was something else Hypno had said. 'How you happened.' Eevee had assumed he had come from somewhere. Had a mother and a childhood, like Arcanine. He had assumed that something must have happened to result in him losing his memories. Now, however, he knows that isn't the case. He had no memories to lose. He... He didn't exist before waking up and finding Arcanine. He... He...
Eevee shakes his head more vigorously. He needs to stop thinking about it. He needs to get out of his own head and... Arcanine! He should go talk to Arcanine! The canine would... would be helpful, somehow. It didn't really matter how, what matters is that Eevee should go talk to him.
Finally, Eevee's awareness of his surroundings returns. Namely, he starts jerking his head around, looking for Arcanine. He almost immediately pauses, surprise etching itself around his muzzle. Eevee is still in Hypno's house, but now the Psychic-type has been joined by none other than Arcanine. The fire dog's eyes are half-lidded, flicking back and forth as they follow the movements of Hypno's pendulum. The holder of the that pendulum, meanwhile, is intensely staring at Arcanine, as if he means to burn a hole in the dog's head with his eyes alone. Despite that being all Eevee can see, he can... feel? Sense? Something else going on. A sensation with no visible source, yet it feels familiar.
The scene is abruptly interrupted as Hypno recoils, his own surprise flashing across his face. As he does this, he disrupts the movement of the pendulum, prompting Arcanine to blink. The fire dog blinks again, then a third time before looking around.
"What was..?" Hypno begins, but breaks off. His surprised look shifts into a more troubled one.
"What happened?" Arcanine wonders, his disorientation not quite faded.
"I... found something," Hypno murmurs, answering the canine's question but not seeming to be talking to him.
"What?" Eevee prompts, causing both of the other Pokemon to look at him. Arcanine smiles.
"You're okay! Feeling better?"
Eevee shakes his head, "Not really... But what did Hypno mean?"
Arcanine's gaze returns to the Psychic-type, who takes a somewhat shaky breath before saying,
