All that Roy saw at the moment was the stone walls of the cave and the extreme darkness, boring for him. He didn't want to stay here anymore, so he turned around and began making his way back towards the surface through the same tunnel he entered.
It took a while, walking up was way difficult than going down but he made it through. As he kept walking, eventually he saw a bright light in the distance. He figured it was the way out, so he sped up his steps and moved faster to the light.
However, he wasn't right, the light, even tho powerful, was daylight, it came from only one source. A giant flame on top of an orange tail, a Charizard's flame. Roy was met with a sight of a wild Charizard right in front of him, staring back at him as its flame glowed around its ominous figure. The boy stopped in his tracks, yet it was too late, the Charizard had already spotted him and wasn't really in the mood for guests.
The Charizard roared loudly, deafening the boy and scaring him, making him drop his torch on the ground. The big fiery beast took a step forward, the ground shaking with his might, and the boy's heartbeat skipped a beat. It took another step, coming even closer to Roy rather quickly. Then another and another, until he was practically touching the boy's forehead with his round belly.
He opened his mouth ominously above the boy's head, his enormous fangs almost biting into the boy's hair as some saliva dripped down from his maw. His extremely hot breath washing over the boy as a growl of hunger came from within.
