Jaden was walking through the forest of Duel Academy as it was getting late at night, trying to get to sleep, and thought a walk might help him feel tired. He was so exhausted that he ended up tripping into a nearby bush.
While he was crawling out, his hand brushed against a glowing green stone, blissfully unaware of what it was and of its power.
“Huh, what a weird-looking rock,” Jaden says before he picks up the rock, and the next thing he knew was that all the information from the stone was transferred into his head.
“This stone grants me any wish I want?” Jaden questioned before smiling widely. "Sweetness, now should I wish for?"
What would he want most? He is the academy's top duellist, despite being a Slifer Red and having the worst grades in the school. However, his skills in duelling are outstanding, surpassing those of all Obelisk Blue students. Not a single Obelisk has managed to defeat him since he arrived on the island (apart from Zane Truesdale), and his abilities are enough to take down entire Obelisks single-handedly.
After graduating from Duel Academy, Jaden aimed to become a professional duellist and hoped to one day face Yugi Moto for the title of King of Games.
The only thing he genuinely wants right now is to have Alexis as his girlfriend, but he wasn't sure how to do it the right way. He has had a crush on her since their first duel against each other. Since then, he decided to keep that a secret out of fear it might ruin their friendship, as he had seen Alexis's bad side a few times when guys (mainly Chazz) tried to win her over by any means necessary, often ending with them receiving a hard slap or a direct kick right between the legs.
Perhaps if the stone functions as claimed, he might discover a way to make her fall for him. Naturally, he avoids the shortcut of wishing for it outright. However, the wishing stone has the power to grant any wish he makes.
Jaden considered all the possibilities the stone presented, but he hesitated, fearing its power might corrupt him. This was because he remembered Uncle Ben's famous words from the first live-action Spider-Man film.
'With great power comes great responsibility.'
The last thing Jaden wanted was to become the villain of his own making.
In any case, time for him to take this stone for a test drive.
"I wish I were back at the Slifer Red dorm." He wished, and the next thing Jaden realised was that he was standing beside his dorm.
"No way! It really worked," he exclaimed, confident that he could now bend reality to his will.   indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
