“We’re getting a computer for Christmas?”
“I don’t want a computer!”
“Dear, do we really have to do this?”
We waited in line at the Apple Store — the only store with a line, the Sunday before Christmas 1981.
“No one will ever use 64K of memory,” the salesman said.
Pac Man, Cookie Monster, Balloons, and Lemonade Stand stormed into our house on a 5 ¼-inch floppy disk. Our world, the whole world, changed forever.
