War shall cease between nations, and by the will of God the Most Great Peace shall come; the world will be seen as a new world, and all men will live as brothers." Help them, O God, in their endeavor, and grant them strength to serve Thee. O God! Leave them not to themselves, but guide their steps by the light of Thy knowledge, and cheer their hearts by Thy love. Verily, Thou art their Helper and their Lord." Bahá’u’lláh2 Footnotes |
Kamal (Perfection), 13 Masa’il (Questions) 175 B.E. - Monday, December 24, 2018 "...Christ appeared in order to illumine the world of humanity, to render the earthly world celestial, to make the human kingdom a realm of angels, to unite the hearts, to enkindle the light of love in human souls, so that such souls might become independent, attaining complete unity and fellowship, turning to God, entering into the divine Kingdom, receiving the bounties and bestowals of God and partaking of the manna from heaven...." 'Abdu'l-Baha3 It's Christmas Eve the day before the traditional celebration of the birth of His Holiness Christ. Even though, December 25--isn't the month or the day on which Christ was born--it's the day the majority of the planet celebrates His birth. I don't think the exact date of Christ birth matters as much as the reason he was born. Christ was born to shed light upon the human race, to unity humanity in the bonds of love, and to teach human beings how to forgive. We need to remember that the gives given during the Christmas season symbolize the love God showered upon humanity when Christ was born. We Forgot We celebrate the bookends of His life (the manager and the cross), but we've forgotten the years between like water turned to wine consumed at a marriage feast. In a world transformed by His blood Roman areans crumbed into dust, and souls reborn created art for Him; but we forgot to watch for His return. Footnotes |
