I DON'T LIKE THIS BLOG ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO  MUSE APPROVED ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** 30 Day Blogging Challenge PROMPT for January 10, 2020 What are some of the routines you follow in your daily life? Do you typically stick to your routine, or do you prefer more spontaneity? The typical daily routine is... there is no daily routine. My wife (Leslie) and I spend most days together either at home or at work. Our work schedule is a per need schedule, we'll typically work 30-40 hours a month. Our daily routine changes drastically with the seasons. We live in the woods near a lake, this is cottage country, there's always something to do, there are always people around in the summer. During the winter our community, Sunset Bay is very quiet, there are fewer than a dozen year-round residents here. On most days we start our day with a cup of coffee and we go our separate ways to share joy and happiness online with the rest of the world. We spend time in the yard. Leslie grows vegetables, spices, and flowers. I cut the grass, and kill weeds, insects, and rodents. We have an above-ground pool, I spend as much time cleaning and maintaining it as I do swimming in it, but we try and use it on a daily basis because the season is very short. We are very spontaneous in the summer and days could include a boat trip to fish or just tour around, we like to cycle, hike and quad ride. Quite often what happens is we set up a couple of lawn chairs in the yard then sit and enjoy a drink, soon a neighbor will stop by, then another, then more, next thing we know it's after midnight and there are seven drunk neighbors in the yard debating the existence of aliens. During the winter months, it's a little harder to stay active. We belong to a Lions Club International club, we dedicate much of our daytime hours to doing Lions' work. I'm the Marketing and Communications Director for our club and Leslie is a Service Projects Chairperson. Leslie also helps in every other aspect of the club, because she is pretty damn smart. We go bowling Thursday afternoons. We purchased a Skidoo last year, so we have a new activity to fill some wintery days. We love watching hockey. We have a couple of NHL teams and a couple of WHA teams we follow, we can stream most of the games we want to watch in either league, so most evenings watching hockey is our exciting event. The short version of my current typical (stay at home) day Coffee News - gotta know what's going on out there. Social media - follow me on Facebook. Writing dot com time. Exercise of some sort, even if it's clearing snow. Lions work - even if it's just thinking about projects, people, or problems. Guitar playing - even if I already played guitar earlier Housework and Food preparation. Hmm, pretty weak so far. I don't think I can add anything more to my typical day without making it look more pathetic as I go along. Would it help if I said, We sometimes go into town Monday nights to play BINGO? Oh yeah, there's ice fishing. It's not so bad, I say to myself as I quietly head towards the exit. see you tomorrow. I hope. |
