So I still haven't received a phone call. They told me they'd hoped to make a decision by the end of today. The day isn't over (as far as I'm aware, offices close at 4:30pm). There was another job posting that closes at 4:30pm today, so I applied for that one, just in case this one doesn't go through. The waiting is driving me crazy! So I'm trying to keep myself busy with work. I started next month's issue, cleaned my house a bit, exercised, and now I think I'll do some reviewing. Oh, and my contest closes tomorrow! Please take a look! (not many entries so far...)

It's not often that I view a band on myspace and instantly love them. I just got a friend request from a band in Boston, though, and I absolutely love them! https://www.myspace.com/cherryst There are so many awesome holiday activities going on right now! Try browsing the contest listings page and forums. (I couldn't possibly list them all here) Here's one I found yesterday:
I'd like to thank the author of this article, "Invalid Item" for reminding me that newsletters are important. I sent out our WOM newsletter this morning. I used to send them each week and then they dropped off. I'm trying to send one out at least at the beginning of each month. No call from BU today. Maybe they'll call tomorrow. *crosses fingers* |
23 days to Christmas! The show was fun last night. We made some new friends and had some new ideas for the magazine. It did start snowing here at home while we were in Allentown, though, so we left just before the last band played. It was a good night, though. I'm glad we went out. |
It's December 1st! 24 days until Christmas and the new issue is up today! Our featured band is Confession. When we moved into print, we upped our standards on who got to be a featured band, and when we sat down to interview Confession, we didn't plan on featuring them. After talking to them for just a few minutes, though, we knew they would be featured in our magazine. They're a very dedicated and passionate group. We're going to the Sterling Hotel tonight to see them and a bunch of other local bands. It seems like the gods of Rock & Roll have heard and answered my prayers. The ice and sleet seem to be holding off until tomorrow. And another desperate plea: ** Image ID #1341453 Unavailable ** |
I managed a blue month! One whole month of blogging! Traci and I managed to put together December's issue in one week! We wanted to print it today for two reasons. 1. We're (hopefully) going to see December's featured band tomorrow (as long as the weather cooperates), so we'd like to give them a few copies of the magazine; 2. We're hoping this creates a pattern of always having the issue out on the 1st of the month. So tomorrow the image in the header of this blog will change to reveal the new featured band! I know you're all on the edge of your seats, excited about which PA band we'll feature next. You should be, anyway! I've had one busy month! I wrote 50k for NaNo, 17 articles for MASP, blogged every day, and put together 2 issues of our magazine! I'm going to game night tonight to celebrate! I'm going to play board games with my sisters. Yay! |

FYI - I had a message from my doctor's office when I got home today. My blood test results were all normal. They have a website thing where I can actually take a look at my test results! It's pretty cool! So I guess I don't have blood clots in my legs. I don't know what all that pain was for... maybe sitting all month at my computer writing 50k and then going shopping and going out to a show on Black Friday? I have to call the doctor back tomorrow, anyway. I don't know if I still have to keep my appointment next week. We'll see. I'm in no immediate danger, anyway. Hooray! |
3 blogs in one day?! I must be nuts! I just wanted to show off for a second: That's quite an honor! I'm thrilled! Yay! |
I feel like the interview(s) went well. At least on my end, it wasn't particularly stressful. That's all I wanted. My theory is: I present myself to the best of my ability. If I'm the right person for the job, they'll decide that and offer the job to me. I'll know early next week, by Tuesday at the latest, I think. (Now to spend 2.5 hours in the campus library) |
I have a job interview today, so rather than talk about how I'm nervous, I'd like to talk about a band - Strata. If you haven't heard of them already, definitely check them out. They have a new video, which you can see here: http://www.purevolume.com/videos/strata/stayyoung The song is beautiful in a sad kind of way. It's one of those songs that feels familiar but completely new at the same time. They're from California and their new album is called Strata Presents The End of The World, which is an awesome album title. Go check 'em out! https://www.myspace.com/strata |
