We would indeed be in a sad state of affairs w/o the luxury of air conditioning. I'm looking forward to the time of year when it isn't necessary (although in Texas, that window is short).

Don't get me started on the difference between the lyricism of Ryan Tedder and that of Dan Reynolds

Dan is a poet; I can point out at least one of ID's songs that has a perfectly symmetrical syllable count. Ryan leaves more up to the skill of his voice...

And this is SO true! I've noticed it myself. And the meter of the words isn't always perfect, either, because the notes can fill in.

Wonderful poem that links footprints to bits and pieces of our memories over the years.

As we get older, we do leave a mark behind - footprints if you will - and even as they fade away, they'll always linger and be a reminder of what we once were.

Thanks for sharing this poignant piece with us, and keep on writing!

Mud

Mud

The ultimate compromise,
the meeting of land and sea,
the preference of the wise,
it’s the stuff that makes us be.

Remember, we’re made from dust,
in dry form and moisture free -
to activate you really must
add water and mud it will be.
