Chapter #8Byleth joins the party! by: Writetime As Annette begins to sit down she suddenly slips and falls sideways her arm and shoulder on a collision course with the lone knight on the seat. Byleth watches as Annette falls over the knight now under Annette lets out a scream as she could only feel the impact of the giant girl compacting her body. The three giant girls oblivious to the massacre happening beneath them as Annette begins to rearrange herself, in a daze from her sudden loss of balance. Byleth notices one of the two knights on Mercedes has fallen off of the giant, not yet crushed and able to scurry away likely giving into fear at the situation they were in.
Byleth's position was now closer to Mercedes, about one half of the way across the seats. The two knights had stopped their attempts to get Mercedes' attention and began to look around the floor for an escape. "Are you alright Annette that was some tumble you had there?" Ingrid asked the sound of the giant woman's voice seeming distant to the tiny woman.
Annette looked up from her dazed state and nodded, "I-I think so."
As the two knights tried to escape They looked up and saw Ingrid's bottom hovering about them in a squat position. The two froze in terror unable to process what was happening. "Ingrid! Don't you dare try to exercise! The spa is for relaxation. I'm sure if Professor Byleth was here you would get a stern talking to!" Mercedes admonished.
Ingrid looked over to Mercedes, "Sorry Merce-mph!" Ingrid's apology was cut off by Mercedes standing up and playfully pushing Ingrid down onto the seat. The two knights looked on as Ingrid's butt plunged down towards them like a meteor hitting the earth.
"Ooh, that was quite fun!" Mercedes hummed as she sat back down, as Ingrid dusted herself off and shuffled in her seat. No sign of the two knights remained. Byleth was now the sole survivor in this massacre. She said a silent prayer for her comrades and made her way towards Ingrid now that the giant knight of House Galatea was the closest to Byleth's position.
"I'm also sure that if Byleth was here, she would not see the point of dolling me up in makeup." Ingrid complained still hopping to avoid her makeup session with Mercedes and Annette.
"Well you know Byleth, she's a simple person, no matter how good of a mercenary she is." Mercedes pointed out, as she smiled at Ingrid.
Byleth looked up towards Ingrid's face, hoping to at least get her attention, if she couldn't avoid the inevitable. She could only watch as Mercedes approached Ingrid's face. "You know you really do have a lovely face Ingrid it is a miracle that Sylvain. hasn't fallen for you yet! But don't worry about some proper makeup we are sure to fix his wayward manners!"
"Ohh could you imagine though if we could get Professor Byleth to wear some makeup. She would be so pretty. I'm sure Dimitri's heart would stop if he saw her with makeup on." Annette cheered.
Byleth's head swam with visions of being treated like a doll at the hands of her 3 students.
"I'm sure that would be an interesting sight." Mercedes giggled.
Byleth was now in front of the seat of the Blue Lion's Pegasus Knight. Ingrid was still looking down, thinking about what her fellow Lions would say about her being made up when Mercedes began to talk, "Now don't try to change the subject too much Annette, let's start with ingrid's eyes. There are some pretty shades that would go so well with your hair..."
"Oh! I'm sure Byleth's eyes would look lovely with some makeup too!" Annette squealed.
"Mmm, I guess so but she already has a certain natural beauty to her. I think if anyone were to have makeup, it would be her." Ingrid said, as she finally looked down to see Byleth.
"My word is that . . . Ingrid rubbed her eyes. Professor Byleth? How did you get so small? Here climb up onto my hand. It's the only safe place to be." Ingrid explained, as she picked Byleth up and placed her on the palm of her hand.
Byleth's eyes began to wander as Ingrid began to notice something off about her new passenger. "You don't seem to have your usual composure." She tilted her hand so Byleth could look into her eyes.
"You look . . . I don't know how to describe it. Like you're going into a battle you're not prepared for. Why are you so scared Professor?"
Byleth only looked away from Ingrid's concerned face. She felt ashamed for feeling such emotions, knowing they were unbecoming of her stoic persona. But how could she share what she had just saw with Ingrid? No it was best to remain silent at least for now. Ingrid noticed the shift in her teacher and decided to do what she could to calm her.
"Oh well, maybe it's best if I don't worry about it for now. Mercedes, Annette look it's Professor Byleth! She's so small now. We should cancel our makeup session and take Byleth to Rhea right away!" Byleth smiled at Ingrid's concern and dutiful nature coming to the forefront. If she could make it to Rhea maybe this nightmare could end. "Professor Byleth is that you?" Mercedes asked moving her face over to Ingrids palms. Byleth stepped back at the sight of Mercedes enormous face hovering over her. "Ah Professor you are so cute! It's like seeing a little baby animal. Maybe we could put a bow on your head!" Byleth backed away from the enthusiastic Mercedes.
"Mercedes I don't think we need to do such a thing." Ingrid started to say.
"We can have both you and Byleth join us for a makeup session now!" Annette cheered.
"I don't think Byleth would really like that. Besides it wouldn't be fair for both of us to get ourmakeup done at the same time. Also, how will we both fit in the same makeup chair at the same time?" Ingrid pointed out.
"Quit being silly Ingrid! Let's go show the world just how pretty you and Byleth are!" Mercedes cheered lifting up Ingrid and pulling her behind herself. indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
