Over the next few hours, the contests of the Gauntlet of Goddess played their hearts out, fighting tooth and nail for the chance to move onto the regional competition, and in turn make it to the world championship. A plethora of teams competed, the crowd screamed and cheered until they were hoarse, and a wide variety of avatars were chosen in each match, ensuring plenty of unique and exciting variety. It really would've been a fun spectacle to enjoy, had you not spent it buried in the butt pocket of your worst nightmare. Even Penelope, non-gamer as she was, had a modicum of fun...or perhaps it was just excited anticipation knowing what would follow.
Eventually, it was the final match of the tournament, with Jessie's team going against a group of quiet but skilled girls from Weston's own eSports club. Jessie, still using Ample Astra, tried her absolutely hardest, but ironically she was continuously outdone by one of the club girls using Astra's older sister, Luscious Lunara, as her avatar. Astra's strength was hard-countered by Lunara's swift ranged blows, and with their best teammate out of commission, Jessie's allies were summarily routed by the club girls. It was still a close game, but the club girls pulled out the win in the final minutes.
As soon as the winner was revealed, Penelope pocketed her phone while retrieving you. She then grinned down at you. "Gumball it is, Mite, and one of my favorite things to turn you into. Sometimes I still think about that time I gave you as a gumball to Mari three days in a row, and that idiotic girl failed to catch on each time. Really, bless her heart, but Mari is as unobservant as can be. Not that they bothered me much, especially when her tummy would make such hilarious gurgles as it digested you!" Penelope practically cackled. "Now, ready for a lifetime of helping to feed a normal human, you pathetic bug?"
Not waiting for you to respond, Penelope got to work on your body. She tore your clothes off with a swipe of a manicured fingernail, then crunched you up and rolled you into a perfect ball shape. She then cackled as she inserted you into the remaining Infusing Capsule, closing and locking you inside afterwards. Instantly, the mechanism inside the capsule kicked to life, and you found yourself rolled around and painfully smushed and smoothed into a flawless sphere. You were then jabbed with the flavor infuser, a burst of citrus liquid forcibly shoving itself into your mashed, malleable body.
Penelope then turned her final kidnapping victim into the last cushion, then put all of the prizes on a cart and wheeled them out into the gymnasium. The noise of the gymnasium was incredible as Penelope entered, the girl herself slightly flinching. Even still, nothing could dull her enthusiasm now as she pushed the cart over towards the center stage, where the eSports club girls were quietly appreciating their victory.
Penelope dutifully handed out the cushions to the grand winners of the tournament, and then grabbed a microphone as she addressed Jessie and her teammates. "Now, gaming ladies one and all, our runner-ups here should not go unappreciated. Let's all remember that in one month's time is the Gauntlet of Goddesses Gracious Second Chance Tournament, where fans across the country vote for their favorite losing teams, and the top eight teams are invited to the tournament for one last shot at making it to the world stage. These ladies did amazingly, and might still taste glory one day!" The crowd, and Jessie and her teammates, whooped and cheered.
"As such," Penelope continued. "They still deserve a prize! And I have here some delectably tasty and Gauntlet of Goddesses branded Infini-Gum. The most tasty and filling gum you'll ever have in your life. And, thanks to the Infusing Capsules each gumball comes with, this gum is infinitely reusable and customizable with all sorts of flavor and texture injecting boosters! Chomp away to your heart's content!" Penelope buried her cruel smirk with a nice-seeming smile. "Ladies, please come collect your prize."
As one, Jessie, Connie, Brenda, Violet, and Mandy stomped over to the prize table and reached eagerly for a taste Infini-Gum of their own, smiling at the sight of the tanned gumballs, instantly recognizing them as inspired by Gauntlet of Goddesses Tricky Tiny monsters, and not thinking a single thing more about them.
Finally, your capsule shook and quaked, and the door popped open as you rolled out onto the eagerly awaiting palm of your new owner.
