Legend has it that Dangor was a high priest of the first gods. His staff was imbued with the power over the primal elements of creation: earth, water, fire, air and the void.
The stories all agree that Dangor used the staff wisely and in the service of the first gods. Dangor lived several life times, but in the end, he was still mortal. At the moment of his death, Dangor’s staff split into five parts and flew to five different parts of the world.
Over the centuries, different pieces of the staff have been found and lost. Some of these discoveries began the launch of the careers of legendary heroes. Other discoveries were the basis of cautionary tales.
The stories about the parts of the staff and what they could do varied from one telling to the next. And all bets were off when it came to trying to piece two or more parts of staff together.
The only thing you knew was the part of the staff that dealt with fire and it might be in the Gormyrkt Forest, more than five hundred miles away.
Tonight, you’re staying in the city of Callerynta, a city in the geographical center of the Kingdom. Callerynta sits on the intersection of two royal highways: one runs north-south between Kara and the main pass of the Kingdom’s Southern mountain range, the other runs west-east between Phesia, a port city on the Great Sea, and the main pass in the Kingdom’s Eastern mountain range.
Tonight your group will be staying at The Crossroads Inn, within sight of the intersection of the Royal Highways. Tomorrow your group begins its journey eastward.
