Welcome to my blog: I intend to share heartfelt writing about anything that comes to mind. |
| Rather I write about anything else today. I want to write about the suicide of my former classmate. Any suicide is disturbing, especially when you feel like maybe it could have been prevented. Nothing I do can bring him back now, but just maybe I can raise awareness and prevent another needless death. I am very greatly disturbed by this suicide because I feel more could have possibly been done, not just because I knew this person. You see? A couple of months ago, my roommate and I knew he was talking about committing suicide. He stopped talking to us. We were concerned and went to my pastor who knew him and only lived a couple of doors down from him. We expressed our concerns to him and asked him to visit him. We heard no more about it until yesterday that his brother had found his body in the front yard under a tree at their childhood home. After speaking to a mutual acquaintance who also lived near by, we found out the pastor did nothing and didn't tell anyone either. We were not aware the other mutual acquaintance lived nearby or we could have told him too. Maybe it couldn’t have been prevented, but I wonder if action would have been taken by the pastor or if someone else would have known, just maybe his family wouldn’t be trying to raise the funds for his funeral right now. If someone else could have reached out to him, maybe he would still be alive. I feel angry because I feel it could have been prevented. I feel sick because nothing was done when my roommate and I tried to get him help. Now a man is dead. His soul is likely in Hell, not just because he committed suicide, but because I know he wasn't right with God from the way he was talking previously. I could be wrong, but this is what I feel. The man who died was a 43 year old army vet who suffered from depression and PTSD and couldn't get the help he needed. He didn't get it from a pastor and he didn't get it from the government. Tell us what happened. When I worked at McDonald's a few years ago, I was taking the money in the drive-thru. On several occasions, someone would pay for the car behind them, and it would start a ripple effect of several cars in a row doing it. It was quite nice to witness this. There was also the time I was working at another restaurant, and a lady came up to me and handed me a twenty-dollar bill. She said she just wanted to bless me that day. I could also mention the time I was with my mom and we had a flat tire when I was a young girl. I forget where we were going. I know mom had told me to stay in the car and she was struggling to change the tire herself. All of a sudden, a perfect stranger came out of, it seemed like, nowhere and helped her. As I have gotten older, I have learned that sometimes you should look for opportunities to help others. They may show up at the strangest times and places. You may even miss an opportunity to help someone if you don't look for it. Someday, you could be the one needing help when no one is paying attention. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Verse 23- We are bought with the blood of Christ and therefore we belong to God. Verse 24- whatever a man is called to do, let him live as belonging to God. Write about dreams for your Blog prompt today. Dreams. 🤔 Dreams are funny things. I guess like beauty is in the eye of the beholder, Dreams are in the life of the dreamer. Some dreams can give us insight. They can reveal purpose, true feelings, and consequences of certain actions. They can serve as warnings or premonitions. They can make absolutely no sense and they can seem so real. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------  It's the beginning of a new fiscal year for some and the halfway mark of a year. What's your favorite thing to do in July that you can't do in another month? What makes it special to you or dreaded? I don't really have a different opinion of July. It is like any other month of the year. I do like July 4th, but don't always get to celebrate it like I want to. On years like this one, I hope for a better half of the year. . Do you believe love is eternal and destined? If so, why do most people find their true love in their hometown? Wow! That was an awesome poem. I was a bit surprised to see the Biblical quotes at the bottom. This sounds to me like someone who may believe in reincarnation, the poem itself that is. I certainly did not expect the biblical twist. These are interesting thoughts, however. I do believe in soulmates. I don't believe we are eternal like God. We were created. We have a beginning. However, I do believe that our souls can live eternally from here on out. Man did not become a living soul until God breathed the breath of life into him. If love was destined, why do we sometimes get it wrong? In reality, everything seen is temporary. People die. Plants die. Animals die. Clothes and other items get old and decay. The earth itself ages and changes. According to the Bible, even earth will come to an end. I think endings hurt sometimes because of the finality of the ending. As an example, even those of us who believe in life after death, are saddened when a loved one dies even if we think they are now in a better place or state. We are sad because we know we will never see them again as long as we continue to live. At Regent University, where I am a student, the class changes every eight weeks. In other words, we do 16 weeks of work in 8 weeks. My Pneumatology class just officially kicked off last week, but it populated on Blackboard two weeks ago. I try to get everything done quickly, since it is pretty much learn at your own pace. I never know when I am going to be deployed for a disaster. If I am deployed I would be gone for two weeks. Missing two weeks of graduate school would mean taking an F. So I get through the main work quickly. I am now three weeks ahead of schedule so I can relax a little. Have I dumped all of my emotions and worries on God? Do I trust him to handle all of my problems? Answer: When I was young and my dad didn't want to hear what I had to say, “He told me to go tell God about it.” So that is exactly what I did. I often wondered what it would be like when he stood before God and had to deal with all those things then with God. Now I am saddened by that thought. Did I really want my dad to face God's wrath? No, I wanted him to love me for who I was and to care about how I felt. I wanted his love, attention, and affection. Obviously, I didn't always get that. I would get slapped around, held against the wall by a choke hold without my feet touching the floor, and held down and hit repeatedly. I would get verbally put down too. I share this story because I hope it will help someone else. If you are a dad who does this to your kids, please stop. If you are the one being abused, I hope you are able to get out of that situation somehow. If not, please don't lose hope. There is a God who sees and cares about you. He is able to deliver you at the right time and is able to turn your sorrows into joy. It may not be in your timing or how you think it should happen, but there is a time and good purpose for everything. Yes, I talk to God about everything. I have spent many nights crying out to him. The statistics said that over 58% of Christians do not believe in Holy Spirit. Of those who do believe 34% believe He is subordinate to Jesus and God, maybe the boss of angels or something. An addition percentage believe His is simply the power of God. What is Holy Spirit to you? Answer: I believe the Holy Spirit is just as much God as Jesus the Son and God the Father. I believe he is our helper. He is the God in us and for us and with us. Humans have body, soul, and spirit. We are made in the image of God. Our spirit is just as much a part of us as our body and our soul. They are just 3 very different parts with 3 very different roles. My thoughts are, God the soul, Jesus with his bride the body, and the Holy Spirit as the spirit. Write about this in your Blog entry today. Resilient and hopeful are good. As long as our hope is in God and not in our fantasies or temporary things, we have true hope. Our hope is secure in Jesus Christ. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ and What's the most prominent sensation your body is feeling right now? Where is it and how does it feel? I think my most prominent feeling is emotional at the moment. I just had to pick my elderly neighbor up from a fall this morning. It is probably her 5th or 6th fall in the last 3 weeks. I am concerned about her. The fall before this one, she broke her nose and everything in her face shifted to the right. She has to see an oral surgeon. Her face is all swollen and bruised. Her legs seem to be getting weaker. I don't want to betray her trust, but we may have to call her daughter to let her know everything that's going on.

| Apparently, I am really not in a great mood to write right now. I am still answering the prompts rather I want to or not. I am just overly tired I think which has put me in a grumpy mood. Hopefully, I don't sound too harsh. I have been taking care of my elderly neighbor and her dog in addition to my roommate and our dog. I am worn out. My elderly neighbor keeps falling and this last time, her face broke her fall. She has daughters. Two of them live out of state. One lives in the same state. However, she seems to act like it is a bother for her or her husband to do anything for her mother. Plus, her mother is quite stubborn. I just can not leave her unattended like that. It is not in my nature to do so. She needs help. So I am helping her even though she technically is not my responsibility. 😔 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take UP Your Cross Prompt: Hebrews 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. Am I shaming myself or believing that grace isn't enough? Am I holding onto guilt after I have confessed my sins to God and know I have been forgiven? Answer: Sometimes I do struggle with forgiving myself when I know that God has forgiven me. I have to work to let go of that guilt. I have had to look up Scriptures about it and pray those Scriptures several times before it sunk in, but that is usually how I deal with feelings of guilt. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Today has been busy, and I am really not in the mood to write about a murder mystery. I do believe I can do it. I am just tired and don’t really want at the moment. Am I worshiping God or complaining to God? What attitude am I bringing my requests to God with? Answer: This is an area I need to work on. I do worship. Don't get me wrong, but I catch myself complaining at times. I have to ask God to give me the right perspective. I ask him to renew a right heart within me. To some extent, we have to be able to bring our complaints before God, but we really have to examine our hearts when we do so. We don't want to complain against God or against his anointed ones like the children of Israel did in the wilderness. We would not want to let a building used for worship to be in poor repair. Therefore we need to take care of our bodies too. We are an instrument of praise towards God, made for his glory in his image. On the other side of the coin, we are to pursue our spiritual relationship with the Father first and foremost. It is not saying we can not expect certain things. The quote is saying that life is not under obligation to give you what you expect. Am I paying too much attention to what people think of me Instead of what God thinks? What do you think God thinks of you? Does it matter what other people think? Answer: As far as I know I am not. I know God sees me as his child. I am fully covered in the blood of Christ. God sees the blood of Jesus and then he sees me. I hope I will hear that he is well pleased with me when I die and go to meet him. To a point, it matters what others think. We are supposed to be witnesses for Christ. If we do wrong or don't have a good reputation, it can hurt our witness and ability to see other people saved. Most summer vacations in my teenage years were spent at Falls Creek Baptist Church Camp. They had 5 weeks of it. I would go one week with one church and go another week with another church. I loved it because it got me away from home for a while. One year, I went 3 weeks in a row. I would also go and spend a week with my Dad's brother and his wife for a week. My aunt would send me back home with new clothes for the next school year.
