This is where I write my thoughts, feelings and my daily trials, tribulations and happy things

It’s been a week since my last entry, and what a week it’s been.
Mental illness is the worst thing that anyone can experience and my youngest daughter has suffered badly from this for most of her life.
This week she has been placed in a clinic for a while, and whilst I know she is better off there, it is still heartbreaking to witness a child (even a grown up one) suffer.
I haven’t been able to think straight never mind write anything, although writing is where I usually turn to when I need to stop thinking about day to day stuff.
We had to rehome her dog Kya yesterday, it was heartbreaking as it was left to us to take her to her new home and to people she didn’t know.
I felt guilty for not keeping her myself but we don’t have the space for two big dogs as we already have Lucy our Weimaraner.
However the new owners sent us photographs and Kya seems to be okay so far.
Anyway I opened up WdC and saw I’d won the ACROBAT contest so that made me smile 😊

Well we were all set to go to our son-in-law’s football team’s Quiz Night. Table of eight sorted. This had been on the cards for a month.in fact we had too many interested for our table having eleven at one time wanting to go. Usually someone drops out so we kept the eleven. First of all my husband got sick with the flu, then son-in -law the same. That was okay, we now have nine. We decided it didn’t matter having one extra, we were not going to win anyway! Usually at these kind of things there is a team of brainiacs.
Daughter comes over to our house to pick me up as I live nearest to the venue. As she walks in, laden with snacks for the evening, she gets a message from her two friends who decided they were too tired to come. Now we’re down to seven people. We are just about to leave the house when we get a message from a family of three, who decided the weather was too nasty and they weren’t coming. “I hope you guys win though”
Now we are four! Decided to pull the pin, and had to let my friends, who were still going, that the night was off. Unbelievable.

Quiet day today so took the opportunity to send two reviews. I’m enjoying reviewing, it amazed me how varied are the stories here at WdC. My birthday tomorrow, swimming and coffee with the swimming class, then hubby is taking me out for lunch. The weather is going to be typical for July, raining and cold. But I don’t care, so long as I’m well enough to enjoy my day.

Beautiful sunny winter’s day today. I forced myself to get into my bathers and go for a swim!
Our Grandson Jacob came for dinner, I’ll miss him so much when he leaves us to go into the army next month, I so hope he likes it.
Next year we’re going home to the UK in May and today it felt a little more real as we looked for flights. It’ll be over twelve years since I’ve been ‘home’ although it’s not felt like home ever since my parents died over thirty years ago. I’ve still got two brothers and various relatives over there though.

Had a lovely day today. My granddaughter took me to the movies and lunch, as an early Birthday present. She’s too busy to meet me on my actual birthday on Friday.
We went to see the movie “tomorrow”
The premise is that for some reason the Beatles never existed. It was so good, I give it five Yeah,Yeah, Yeahs, out of five!

I’m so excited to have won first prize in June’s Good deeds deserve Cash!
I still can’t believe it. So thankful for all the amazing tutoring we received through Rockin’Reviewers Academy, and a special thanks to Hannah for her patience, encouragement and gentle coaching.

I’ve been very slack not attending to my blog. I don’t know where the days disappear. I’ll blame it on winter.
Wettest June for many years and still it rains. That’s a good thing because we go for up to six months without seeing a drop. I used to have a summer birthday when I was a child in England, but now it falls in the coldest month of the year her in Perth Western Australia.
School holidays are starting next week, so will probably catch up with the great grandkids sometime.
My granddaughter Beth is coming up today for a visit. She’s exhausted from her directorship of the school musical. Everything seems to have gone wrong, but as they say it’ll be all right on the night. Fingers crossed.
