Kare, This is profound...to meditate upon such a wave from her birth or creation ,through
her gulp of destruction, and to even the quiet solitude of despair after she disappears back
into the vast depths of the sea...
Your words have created the total picture of the "Tsu na mi" Wave in almost a tender way
of allowing the reader to feel her energy without hating her..except for the destruction
that she caused as she gulped all those in her path.
For those who are in her path, I FEEL their pain, but for her I SEE THE MAJESTY OF
POWER of THE UNIVERSE..A PICTURE OF THE FORCE OF NATURE BEYOND THE
UNDERSTANDING OR CONTROL OF MERE MAN UPON THIS PLANET. Your words
were able to let me see the other side of the coin...there are two sides to most anything.
As I thought about this, I COULD imagine sandcastles that I HAVE built upon the Atlantic
beaches, like little cities...but when the tide comes in....all washed clean..leaving a pristine
and sandy shoreline, nothing left of the sandcastle...the power of the Sea, of its daily life
yet it is only a bitty Tsu na mi...so to speak....unavoidable, constant, and part of God's
Creation. We cannot change it nor can we control it from happening..only try and live
through it and realize that God is more powerful than we will ever be.

What a beautiful way to look at nightfall, as the changing of the Guard...A very
profound poem and thought...we are never left in total darkness as the heavens above

This poem certainly captures your love for your family...First, you see them with your eyes
and soul, loving them for their beauty, but also what is even deeper that and what is
truly important...their virtue and honor. This brought me back to another time and place,
when at a very young age, my parents always taught all seven of us children that beauty
is only skin deep, and it is being beautiful on the inside where your heart is, that is the
secret of your "real beauty". This is such an important lesson and you have helped me
"revisit" those valuable lessons by your lovely words here.
Second, you love them for their lovely voices, that bring a smile to your face. Another of
life's great lessons...our words can uplift another, so why let anything come out of our
mouths that would hurt, or make another unhappy or angry. We have been given the
power of speech to lighten the load, not weigh another down...and your words have
reminded the reader of this power, and to use it as your family has..
Although you say that they have left you speechless...lovely words, so well written show

God does bend down to listen, and yes HE knows our thoughts and desires even before
we speak to HIM. I like the comparison between your Daddy, and your HEAVENLY
FATHER, as they both have "listened' to you throughout your life. You are very fortunate

instrumental in helping you realize your Father in heaven was always listening to you as

"Distraction"...we have all traveled this road, and
what a beautiful way you have described life itself.
There are but few moments in our lives when jobs,
duties to our family or friends,or other obligations
leave us wondering if our time is being spent the
best way possible.
This is a reminder to take into account what is most
important in our life's "Record Book"...which will
be sure to go with us to the other side as our journey
on earth ends and the door into the eternities is
opened for us...
It is a reminder to choose wisely, each moment spent
and live it to the fullest, hoping that we always
Choose the Right! We are given free agency, one of
our most precious gifts from God. OUR question we
will have to answer one day..is did we fufill our
obligtions and promises to the best of our ability.
Were the "distractions" sent from God to guide us on
the path HE would want us to take to help us get back

This was a wake up call to remind us to choose how
we spend each moment and day and try always to figure
out God's plan for our happiness and know that it is within our reach.

YES, you have become the whittler of your own destiny. What a marvelous POEM,and even age could not
stop me from creating the kind of person I WANT TO

bond and promises one makes to another...as endless as

Why is it that no one listens to the child, yet they
ask how was their day...are we to busy to lend an
ear, take time to hear..just share a moment in their

"WHY?" A million dollar question...yet the answers
are not given......These questions , well
spoken, make a profound statement...There are so
many injustices that will never change no matter
what generation asks "why so"
This thought came to me as I READ IT...what
is the first question a little child asks" Why?"

know "Why?" are these the consequences or results of negative behavior...
Because wrong actions result in negative consequences.

reviewing the POEMS that were alongside this one in the "PICK the PRETTIEST FLOWER" contest entries.
Your "Borrowed Poetry" from Andrew Barten (Banjo) Patterson's poem entitled "Clancy of the Overflow" could well have been sung to the tune of a good ole banjo song.
Your fresh approach and your lovely indepth
addition to PATTERSONS words, created a story worth
telling of the old cattle rancher under Aussie skies
way way outback...a legacy worth remembering!
Your tale so colorful it took me right with you along the trail...as your words beat the rythem, to the clop clop of the "cow cockie's" horse on the big cattle drive. This was a fun experience to ride
along with the Aussie drover as he shuffled the cows
off to market.
YOUR poem became part of the patchwork quilt as you
laid out your squares bundled around PATTERSON'S WORDS, MY FAVORITE OF WHICH YOU CHOOSE TO "BORROW"
WERE.." And at night the wond'rous glory of the
everlasting stars." This was a beautiful example

write about your feelings when you are near her.
This is why I GAVE YOU 5 stars...1. Because you
were able to express the deep emotions that you must
have, AND be able to portray these to others with
your words. YOU have done a great job of doing this.
2. You must be able to make the reader feel as though they are there with you, in the scenario that you are writing about. YOU have made
me feel your nervousness, and your love for this girl.
I AM pretty sure you meant to say "nervous", instead of "nerves" and you might want
to correct the spelling..however I DID not mark points off for this since it was your very first POEM, AND that spelling is one of my weaknesses, so
I USUALLY do overlook spelling errors..but just try

The Title is what drew me in, and though I WAS looking
to read some poetry, I WAS already there, intrigued
by the beginning sentence...kept on until the end,as
I HAD to see what made a grown man so frightened.
Your short story was mysteriously leading me through
the woods with you...Would you drop dead from over
exertion, a heart attack in the middle of nowhere?
NO, YOU WOULDN'T BE WRITING THIS STORY...kept reading..prepared for almost anything...
MY FAVORITE PART, was of course that you are still
here to write about it...but the line "when would
someone find my mangled body, crushed into the dirt of
the trail and hardly recognizeable? (reader must
find out for himself!) I JUST CAN'T GIVE IT AWAY...
A GREAT MYSTERY, THRILLER, SUSPENSE...A fine
