I liked your little story. It must have been so exciting going away for the first time at camp. I think all good mothers tend to be a little over protective. I am not a mother but my mom was a little over protective and my sister is a little over protective of her boys. I am a little over protective of my nephews too. Jack is 9 and Jimmy is 7. They are so young and innocent. So maybe that is why your mom was over protective, I have no idea though. I am sorry about the tetherball thing. That must have been tough. I am happy you had fun though. Keep up the good work and thank you for posting this story.
I can understand Gayle in a way. I spent a lot of time trying to please my family. I realized that was not possible. At 18 I became a paramedic and my parents were furious with me. They ranted and raved about it but it was the best 24 years of my life. You did awesome with the story. Keep it up.

I worry about this with my nephews. They are 7 and 9. They are pretty much into telling us about things. I just want them to be happy and succeed with their school.
I really liked your poem. It was intensive. I have recently begun soul searching. I actually came out of the closet so to speak. I told my family that I feel like I am a man trapped in a woman's body. Surprisingly my family is very supportive of this. I am relieved. I have been researching my options.
