"Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outrage."
(Lewis Carroll's Jabberwocky)

"On his airy perch among the branches
Master Crow was holding cheese in his beak."
(Marianee Moore's Master Crow)

Among the rules which govern poetry;
is to learn that prose sentences contain rhythms.
They come bundle loosely in phrases and clauses,
while poetry is packaged neatly in lines.

The iambic rhyme of this poem is pentameter
And ends on the second sentence letter.

I prefer free verse,
but this was terse.

Muzzy took Terri to the captain's quarters and performed an around the
world. Wht-ya-think? I think this is a concise story of couple with a long term
horniness for each other. "I love enough to leave you." A FISH NAMED WANDA.
The exposition is marvelous: "They knew each others darkness."

I think a relationship needs to be naughty.

Nice .. bah-junk-a-junk!

Review of Mary-Ann
Review by bob county
Rated: E | (5.0)

A girls love is usually fantasy. She wants passion and drama.
A woman's love is permanent. She wants a man she can depend on.
This is another free verse poem I've read:

"Scarce did a lover e'er do as I did.

When his best girl to eternity slid.

I am Romeo, Romeo.

I am the darling that mashed Romeo.

I am Juliet, Juliet.

I up and stabbed myself right in the corset.

Locked in a tomb with no pickaxe to force it."

Fred Newton Scott(1880-1931)

Good luck with Mary Ann.

This is free verse. And it is true, you can never go back.
Do you remember your first kiss? It seemed the girls were
more aggressive. .. I thought kissing was sucking face
when I was nine.
Your tome is a melancholy to forgotten passion.
Perhaps, a quick skinny dipping will wash off the cobwebs?

Lidia, Lidia. The tattooed lady.
Multiculturalism is wonderful as long as everyone plays nice.
Unfortunately, many childish impulses test the boundaries of good manners.
There was a girl in my grammar school, who liked to kick boys in their goodies.
My told me to never hit a girl. So, I ran from her.
Fight or flight was my first lesson at the Puberty School.

It's sad, but most folks just keep to themselves.
They don't want trouble.

My only criticism of this seamless work is the right side is cut off by the margin.
Also, you don't mention what a strong influence Lady Ga Ga has on girls.
Pop culture is the religion of the teens. What if Lady Ga Ga was a bad role model?
Could you stop your daughters from imitating her?

So many choices and so many loss lives.+

Have you read Black Elk Speaks?
This poem reminds me of his story about
"The Great Hoop of Life."
He was the last of his tribe and a Shaman .
He told his story "To a writer of words."
So that his people would not be forgotten.

Review of Our mothers words
Review by bob county

How, unfortunate this is an exclusive campfire.
The topic is very profound, "Our Mother's Word."
My mother told me that women envy men, but
want a strong man to protect them. I was skeptical.
I grew up in the seventies and feminism was everywhere.
Even the young nun teaching me Catholic Dogma was dressing
more seductively. Sister Emeritus had long slender legs. That she
wore black nylons with. If you can get a copy of "In The Habit"; staring
Elvis Presley and Mary Tyler Moore.

Any who, good topic.

Are you old enough to remember Jimmy Carter?
He was homespun and funny and he beat out Gerald Ford.
All Sarah Palin needs is a hot spot, where she looks decisive.
Obama has bad poll numbers. Folks are blaming him for their
debt. Do you remember Jimmy Stewart's, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington?
I think Sarah Palin would make a strong Republican Presidential Candidate.
And I'm a Democrat. :)

There is a chant to this: "I don't .. I still.. I want"
It is amazing how complicated people make love.
I'm guilty of it. I think people are two faced.
I'm rarely disappointed. But, this recital reads like a poem.
It has stanzas with a rhythm .. I like it.

Review of It's Too Late

Excellent moral dilemma. I had a professor, who became addicted to
antidepressant medication after hiis son drowned snorkeling. He had a
course on Mark Twain. I think he wanted it; to a get a grip on life.

Kevin, in your story, knows the world is going to end soon.
He decides to grope women and revel in casual sex.
That's fairly tame. You should read Casandra. She was cursed
with knowledge of the future. Her friends ignored her or sought
violent vengeance against her. Strangely, Casandra still prayed
to the Gods for mercy. .. I guess that's Greek.

As far as reading jazz goes: "once again" is repeated to often and unnecessary
as is the refrain, "In other words." These are your words and no others.
But, the story is original and thoughtful.

Keep writing!

Some people have a fear of nature. I guess they think it will eat them.
You use the pronoun he often. Is this intentional? It sounds choppy.
Have you read Jules Vern, LOST WORLD? He writes it like a diary
in the first person. This story reminds me of his style.

There are many ways to die. Some are swift and some are slow.
Recently, a woman in Australia had a spider nest removed from her
hip. She thought it was an infected spider bite. And there is a flesh eating
fungus. So, nature will devour us...

The Chinese government stopped the bird flue with injections of

This is a good poem. Every fourth stanza rhymes.
Jesus said he came with a sword not to make peace with
the Jews and Romans, but to tell the Truth. The problem with
Islamic terrorism is it does not fear death. So, you have to kill
all of them or somehow convince them that they are wrong.
The Romans executed Jesus for sedition and they thought that
would solve the problem. . I think we know better.+

Well, it's called the secret service, because they keep secrets.
Shhhhhhh! The CIA wants to do its work without any accountability.
Building 7 at ground zero at 9/11 fell straight down into its foot print.
But, it was never struck by a plane..... (explosives?) Building 7 housed
the offices of the CIA. . Hmmm. Conspiracy theorist are selling mountains
of books on this mystery.

Let's face the awful truth. This country is bankrupt and owes its soul to
the WORLD BANK. ... Think of all the money that's come out of Iraqi oil.
None materializing at the gas pumps. Nope, the tax payer is stuck with
trillion dollar debt. Oh, well or Orwellian?

I guess no good deed goes unpunished.
Strange the parents didn't call an ambulance.
Stranger still no one called the police.
But, I want to read more. Can the boy be saved?
Why are so many people interested in him?

I'll stay tuned!

This is a well written poem and expresses the need for closure.

Fun read. I'm reminded of a story about an Irish bachelor, who fell in love
with a mermaid. All was well during the night, but at dawn she had to return
to the sea. I prefer the plot twist: ending two in your tale. I should warn you

Ha-ha-ha. Is this for real? I have witnessed a judge hand the children to a
pain pill popping addict mom. Typically, the husband pays for the wife's lawyer.
True story; the wife is sleeping with another man and files a divorce for
emotional hardship. .. Well, she was so upset she needed a new dad.
Without a prenuptial the husband is screwed. What does all this do to
the children? My buds daughter is pregnant and the ex-wife has kicked her out.
The daughter is fifteen. Guess what? She moved in with her dad.
He finally got custody ... Yeah!

I just laughed and shared a pizza with Brain and his lovely daughter Alison.
Oh... I am so happy I'm not married. Alison is getting state assistance for the new
granddaughter. Ha-ha-ha!

Simply purrrr-fect! Music is the third greatest magic; words are the second.
The first is silence. In the beginning all was empty and void, then God spoke.
Something came from nothing. That's magic.

The flute is ancient: the pipes of Pam.
And every feast must have a ham.

Free verse is perfectly sublime.
What can be said about moods?
At least we are not beset by the weather.
Tornadoes and floods and tsunamis ; what is next?
Some think we are do for increased meteor strikes.
The ozone is thinning, and more dangerous radiation is entering.
The polar caps are melting and raising the sea level and lowering the saline .
And the level of carbon dioxide is rising as the third world enters its industrial
growth. How many cars do the Chinese need?
Of course, the threat of total nuclear war is always with us.
And some nut could go ape on a plane.

But, your verse is sweet .
I feel like some coco.

"Samuel says looking deep into his wives" does Samuel have many wives?
There are many references to Elders. Is this a religious community?
I like the suspense and the fact that Samuel has two daughters to parent.
It makes me sympathetic to Samuel and concerned. Maybe, you should
make less spacing and compress the composition into three paragraphs.
That's subjective. It's a good mystery and I want to read more.

The pearl of immeasurable value. I am reminded of a toy solder
my dad put in the knoll of his pear tree. It was a tradition he picked
up from his dad. Celtic lore believes the tree's have old souls.
It is respectful to offer them a gift. In turn they will give you a wish.
Silly, but sentimental.

Your tribute is perfect.
