Wow! I am impresed.
Not only by this peom but your entire portfolio.
You are an amazing writer.
I will place you in my favorites and return for more insightful and fun reading.
This is tender and incredibly warm. I too have met some wonderful writers on WDC. Ithas become like an extended family. My freinds in the First People, the Seniors, the Veterans, and many others have given me encouragement, laudatory praise, and the desire to write and contribute.
Thanks
Superb!
Well written, excellent grammar, very nformative.
I can identify with you, although my primary specialty in the Army was Special Forces, my secondary specialty was Military Police Criminal Investigations. Although I did not spend much time working in the MP's, I learned to fully appreciate their trade and the rigors they have to endure.
I salute you!
Thank you!
I really enjoyed reading this.
I am no judge of poetry as i just started writing poetry about six months ago,
but when I read a poem and I enjoy it,
Then it hs to be good.
I thank you for sharing your beautiful prose with us.
p.s. thanks for reviewing my novel in progress also, I need to start back and fine tune it soon!!!
You really hit the nail on the head with this one.
This part: "The greatest single cause of atheism in the world today is Christians; who acknowledge Jesus with their lips then walk out the door and deny him by their lifestyle. That is what an unbelieving world simply finds unbelievable."
Is what defines your article.
Unfortunately...it's so true!
I too am a fairm believer in Jesus Christ and not ashamed to say it in public or in writing, but the word Christian sometimes makes me cringe!
This is pretty close to what my family does on Christmas. Our Christmas feast is always on Christmas Eve usually at one of my daughter's homes because on Christmas day we do a lot of traveling from family to family.
One tradition we've always had was to set an extra plate at the table for a stranger or Veteran even though we know no one is coming. This tradition goes all the way back to my g-g-grandmother who used to set a plate for soldiers returning home from the Civil War.
Merry Christmas

I'll have to agree with you on this one. There's an old saying that family issomething that you are stuck with but good friends are a blessing.
Thanks for sharing.
The most incredible cost of war is the cost "of becoming someone you shouldn't be.' Many people do not realize that those who experience the close-up horrors of war are turned into different people.
During the time of greatest fear, we become more like creatures of destruction, without conscience, without soul, without thought. After the fear and horror has passed and we return to a peaceful existence, memories of what we were and what we did haunt our dreams forever. Often, it is not the horror we witnessed, it is the horror we perpitrated.
This was well written and kept my interest throughout. I think (in my opinion) that breaking the paragraphs down into smaller ones might help the reader a bit. The dialogue was good, the description was great, and the flow was smooth!
I applaud you for your courage to write what you believe. Far too often people simply give lip service to others about religion, politics and social questions.
I also am a devout christian, in fact I am a Doctor of Divinity, but don't tout it. I also like to interspace my native ameican beliefs into christianity and the bible. I believe their religious viewpoints were very similar and they DID worship the same god but under many different names.
Yes, I know the value of the bible.
I also know that the words of the bible and gentle words of the prince of peace (Jesus) have helped heal the scars I received in battle, both mental and physical...especially mental. Thanks for sharing this with us.
When writing for the newspaper I was taught the old maxum - keep it short-just the facts. I passed this rule on to every young reporter that came under my supervision over the many years that I worked as a managing editor. The stories you have written here would be perfect examples to use for young journalists entering the challenging field of news reporting.
A well written piece, interesting and descriptive. I liked the part about the desert. I've often wondered if this is how our majaor religion's came into existence. Tired, thirsty, hungry, exhausted and hallucinating men seeing and hearing voices in the desert.
Thanks for sharing!
I have been writing a personal column in three newspapers, including a large daily paper. I will continue to do so as they are now paying me a stipend. It seems that I have grown a readership base from my years as an Editor.
At the end of each column I "Always" put in IF YOU ENJOYED THIS ARTICLE YOU MAY READ MORE ARTICLES WRITTEN BY THIS AUTHOR AT WWW.WRITING.COM
Present circulation for all three papers is around 240,000 subscribers.

Although I have given over 1000 reviews, I need to improve the quality of my reviews, so excuse me if I use a recommended template. The following review is simply my thoughts and opinions and not meant to be derogatory in any manner. My suggestions are meant only as help or notational comments:
My honest opinion of this item: Excellent! Well written, smooth, very enjoyable.
What I recommend: The story is great as it is. I was just thinking that when he said the shoes would last him six months, perhaps he had only 6 months to live?
What I enjoyed the most: This part---“and maybe they’ll last me six months. Thank you so much for helping me find shoes. They are my Christmas present!”
My overall opinion:
This is a wonderful Christmas story and well deserving of a 5.0. I get the feeling that this was written more from an experience than from a fictional standpoint. Like maybe you were in on the action?
At any rate, well done!!!
I have 3 more tribe members to go and I will have read something from everyone's port. I intend to go back and read more, including yours.
Thanks for sharing and being!!
This was really cute. I could identify with poor Patrick. I guess no one ever taught him the history of how St. Patrick drove all the snakes out of Ireland.
This was well written and I loved the way it told the story from the snake’s point of view.
Great writing!
Dutch outta be happy with this one.
your work is
Always well done,
Always enjoyable,
Always refreshing,
Always exciting,
Always in this case could go on and on.
I'll definitely be back!!!
