Faith is so important. I love this piece. Whispering Jesus' name to ourselves gives us strength and makes us happy. I know my brother Rick would say so. He often tags his conversations with the thought that he whispers to Jesus. It is so natural, so life- iving. It lifts you up and makes you whole. Thanks for sharing the thought. I just whispered his name! I'll probably have a good day!

I feel that way about prophesizing. Julie is a strong moment. I think that when I was little, I always believed in great prophesy, and if someone like
Julie gives you the strength to believe in it, more power to you! I've mentioned my brother to you, but I have another brother who died last year, and his hildren are great believers in Jesus Christ. I think his death has even made them stronger. I didn't think they would survive his death, but they did. Jesus was there for them.

Nice job!

Review of Visions from God
Rated: ASR | (5.0)
I have always believed in prayer for others, too. My brother, a handicapped quadraplegic, has the strongest faith I have ever heard of. His faith is boundless. He has had hands lain on him, and he ventured into a new part of his faith, when he went outside the Catholic Faith and began to get involved in a Bible Ministry. His attitude changed, and he began to read more of the Bible. Now he reads Bible passages off of his computer everyday and gives me references to them. It's like his burdens have been lifted, and he is healed. Before this, he was rather confused with his Faith.

I've had visions and wanted to aid people. So has my
girlfriend in another state. Do you Kenzie? I think
that they are real. Anyway, great informative piece.

I liked this piece because of its allusions. Each paragraph created that allusion to a faithful God. It is masterful. With the Potter and what he is creating, I envisioned a Plan--that he would create a perfect Cup and Saucer, a mark of a great work, the masterpiece we call His own. I reread it and thought on it, and decided the piece is pristinely beautiful, a very good descriptive piece, nicely formed for prayerful thought.

Yes, I can see details in here that point to a very thorough revision. Such a delightful story. I love your motivation with 'evil' characters. And then again, Megan, you come up with whipped cream sundaes. Easy reading doesn't mean easy writing. Sweetly done. Children will love it! Mark time, you are so talented.
Best Regards.

I have a "diamond in the rough" poem too in my Portfolio. You have done this a little better. A
little more finesse. Marked lines of sweet empathy. What happened to the Dead Poet's Society? It doesn't seem to be going anywhere. Just wondering. Finally, the poem speaks for itself. Nice. Best Regards.

Review of Trading Places

A wonderful poem with a great title. I liked your masterful exchange of words with the spiritual side of things. And it goes without saying that your Port is filled with such writings, all blessed with wonderful moments. You made me breathe here and I enjoyed that. I can find time for "Him", I think. It makes me want to walk with "Him". It is a precious piece, without malice or judgemental moments. I am inclined to always tell you in my reviews that your talent, abounds, Marilyn. Thanks. Best Regards.

Review of Anger Understood
Rated: E | (4.5)
Well, the homeless are a part of society that gives us poverty's vicious cycle. Prison is a point in case that leaves them lost, majorly without jobs. I had an acquaintance, a great writer in NYC, that worked for the Prison System. Prison Poets have much to offer us in their own write, their own view. He always impressed upon me that Prison was not always an impossible situation. Although I have not read all of his writings, I think that he knew what he was talking about. He had a feel for prisoners, and probably knew "homeless". When he taught writing in Prison, he might have given hope and given them time to think. Anger in some, which can come from violence, must be forgiven. An intelligent man like your cousin, must
have lost his way, and this being sad and unfortunate,
can be heartbreaking. I hope he is alright by now.
I understand. Best Regards.

Review of I Remember Fritz
Rated: ASR | (5.0)
I feel such empathy for you in this. Fritz did not die in vain. He had a friend. You know, your spirituality in your pieces is very heart-felt. You come through with such control and give us a marvelous picture of yourself. The poem written in this item was so well done. It marks time. Gave you a chance to remember Fritz and us, at WDC, to linger over it. You must have been a deep child, as you say. And this is by now means always true with poetry-writers. You really have talent, Marilyn. Best Regards.

Review of Smile, Beautiful!

Smile, beautiful! This is the cutest picture I've ever seen. You looked adorable. Anyway, I enjoyed eading this piece and seeing your son. Our pasts are strange things, we all want to fit in finally. And yes, the most fantastic thing is our families. You've been blessed. Thanks for sharing a piece of you on WDC. Best to you.

Wow! I just love this. My adoration of cats runs deep. My own cat Princess is cherished in my Portfolio. You have done a great, clever job of making a "kitty" poem work. Good lines that have a meaningful array of cat-moves. You blend in your lines, one to the next, achieves great rhyme. With a little afterthought, this poem is a classic. Best
Regards.

Review of THE DREAM
Rated: E | (4.5)
A very good poem. It really held my attention. I liked the formula, the words, the variants in it. Apparently, it is a take-off on a limerick. This really does the trick, I've had the same feelings on housework as well. It's an excellent poem on the mundane. Best Regards.

You know, this poem sings through experience. It is a fragile poem with much inspiration and is very excellent. I know that you wanted to be "the best" for your wife, and it achieves great moments. Spirituality in poems gives us sweet cherished lines like these, I think. It is a poem that has deep intent. I like the title.

Favorite lines:
You will leave this world, spirit weightless and free You'll tell the same stories to angels till they flee But she'll be there to join you, in the blink of an eye For it's wrtitten in heaven, true love can never die

wrtitten , just incidental

Good job! Best Regards.

Review of We Will
Rated: E | (5.0)
What a nice liason you must have with your loved one, Incurable Romantic . I think friends on WDC are so important. Now back to the poem. The poem is rich with good lines, a veritable walk with God, a slice of living with romance and love that each us marvel at when it is in our own lives. That second rewrite I thought was marvelous:
Love comes packaged many ways yet
None ever so dear or so rare
As love given by God. He said,
"Take this man and love him forever."

I will.

The cute twist of giving that last line to the Reverend is marvelous with its consequences and irreplaceable.

Best Regards.

Good list you have here. As I note in your poems, the call to God, I get a feel for wishes and hopes and dreams that you have experienced. You have such stamina and conviction! I went into a few items and realized I had already rated them awhile back and been very impressed. Here you have an interesting attitude and much foresight. Best Regards.

Sweetly done. A romance in stir. A feeling for the senses. A feathering of words that are delightful! I liked your poem here. It gives me deja vu. Has an excellent drama behind it, I believe. I liked the questions asked in the stanza:
What happens when we one day meet?
Will I be what you thought?
The Lord above knows whom I seek.
Are you the one I’ve sought?

A briliant poem. Best Regards.

Review of We Three
Rated: E | (5.0)
I was impressed with how nicely this rhymed. Cue words gave us your subtle mastery at work. Your subject is masterful, your lines that come quickly and in short bursts are not at all chaotic, are very meaningful. I liked your last line, the subject of the poem: We three. It designates the poem and gives us a good, good allusion. Best Regards.

A reverent, and masterful poem. Full of good things and formed with good lines. I like your title. And the angles you have with it. Much of us look at life in this way, but few have said it this way in poetry. Looking at it in retrospect, I should remember it. Best Regards.

Gee, I like this original content. Your presentation is your own and very informative. I really hadn't thought of breaking up lines and showing our members a poem in this way. It's a very good
poem to begin with, full of hope and renewal. Your subject, of course, is masterful. Your title, winsome and sombre. To see things like this is a palette of life. Thanks for sharing. Best Regards.

This piece is excellent! How informative, how jam-packed with great quotes. You said something there that I thoroughly agree with: that poetry is not so much rhyme as it is rhythmical and meaningful. I liked your quote from Nikki Giovanni, and love her writings. In fact all your quotes were brilliant. A great overhaul of what poetry can be. Best Regards.

Good little nut to crack. I like your poems immediately. They show illumination and your formula here is very professional. I always find a message in a poem gives me a foothold, and you possess that here. It may be more than just a cute poem. Best Regards.

Review of Grow On, America

Yes, you have said this well. I have no qualms in saying that presently we are not united, as well. What happened to us was of course like Guadalajara. And it was something I felt deeply about too. Each of us Americans, do, I think. And the scar is there. Don't you think in time it will heal? I'm hoping that America sees through it all and gives itself a place in the 21st century. Explore new avenues, make securities a must. Thanks for sharing this.

Review of Love is a Verb
Rated: ASR | (5.0)
I thoroughly believe in this. Loving ourselves, loving our loved ones, loving our neighbors, it is the best thing for us. I had already e-mailed you with a few of your award winning pieces, and I noted that I had already rated and reviewed one that spoke of your past with your writings. It was so interesting that you went through the long period of writing for the sixties and then began to write about the Lord. I find spiritual material so enlightening and I think in the end it is the best thing for us. Your spunk should not go unaided. It is with forsight and knowledge that I think you now write. It is really a joy to read and yes an amazement at things you have overcome that make your writings great, I think. Best Regards.

To speak of Fred Rogers is a wonderful thing. I am from Pittsburgh and worked at Carnegie Mellon University doing clerical work in the seventies where he would make an entrance at times and where we did some of his paperwork. I felt the loss of his death too, and when I was a child I loved Josey Carey. Fred Rogers should be hailed throughout the world I think! He was a master of the great art of pleasing children with TV as well as giving us a place on TV to be safe with. Thank you for writing this. Best Regards.

Review of Explaining My Son
Rated: ASR | (5.0)
What a thorough test of time you have had with your son Derek. I was again moved by this story. As it went from point A to point B to point C, I felt your plight was very real. You appear to have really admitted to every thing so well, and you did everthing you could to live with Asperger in Derek. Your story is poignant and straightforwardly well-told. I like your piece here. It is a masterful story with all the details for us and your plight should not go unaided. Derek is probably really loved and that is very important. I think you are very courageous. Your info at the end, as well, was detailed so well. Many people such as myself are not aware of Asperger Disease. Thank you for sharing here at WDC. Best Regards.
