I saw you posted this on the newsfeed the other day. I was saving it up for a lull in the Horror/Scary Word Searches. I think I've hit all of those for the time being. This is a pleasant change of pace.
Jumping Right In:
Yes, there are so many old time favorites listed in this Soap Opera puzzle. Gosh, you took me way back to Peyton Place. MY mother loved that one.
The ones I couldn't miss, though, were Dallas and Falcon Crest for the weekly nighttime Soaps. As for Daytime Soaps, I was the Ryan's Hope, followed by All My Children then One Life To Live, and of course the best of the line-up, General Hospital. Of course, the invention of VCR players helped. Before that there were videotapes. I believe the popularity of Soap Operas pushed the necessity of those copying devices to be able to watch our programs outside school and work hours.
Parting Thoughts:
This was a fun puzzle to solve. My mind flashed on several scenes from those old favorites. Then one day, I just had to let the Daily ones go. I was so busy, I couldn't catch up with them even on recorder. But then, I came across a favorite one when I was home and just put it on live. Who'd have thought I could follow the story line years after I had dropped them. Ah, the slow moving clock handles built into Soaps.
Conclusion:
I really loved uncovering this puzzle. It brought back so many memories of youth, and not so youthful times.
I believe you mentioned when looking for reviews on the Newsfeed, that you had received some reviews of your items by a on-star hit and run reviewer. I stopped by to review this story since I got caught up on other stuff needing to be finished.
Overall Thoughts:
I have read this story and was completely immersed in the action and the battle against brutal beings in this sci-fi work. I like your Wolfess, Zena!
Further Thoughts:
Your story is filled with vivid imagery and picturesque characters that a reader could see clearly.
The battles fought by Zena only clarified her strength and spirit and great resolve. She is definitely a very strong character that you've given life to.
Parting Thoughts:
Zena on the hunt is obviously unstoppable.
I believe this story was unfairly rated and intend to help remedy that with my rating.
I am reviewing this item in response to one of your review requests on the Newsfeed.
Overall Thoughts:
This is a very seasonal puzzle. It brings the warmth and joy of Christmastime. The scent of pine in the air and the jingle of sleigh bells delight young and old alike.
This puzzle was based on the old Clement Clarke Moore's Christmas poem "A Visit from St. Nicholas." It is more familiarly dubbed: 'Twas the Night Before Christmas.
Your puzzle consisted of 27 clues which mostly fell into place as the poem played out in my head. Well, there were moments that I had to refresh my mind on since my children all grew up. I don't recite it now. I just cook and bake my way through the holidays.
Parting Thoughts:
I enjoyed reliving these warm family moments when the kids were young and their eyes were filled with all the magic that Christmas brings.
Thank you for dropping the link of your word search puzzle for me on the Newsfeed.
Let's Dig In:
Your puzzle consisted of 25 words to uncover. They all pertain to zombie invasion and what can be done to stop them.
This tile was huge! The words nestled in there as if they would surprise attack the player at any minute.
It took a good bit of brain power to uncover everything. However, the hardest one to find was "slow." No kidding, I admit to being slow on finding "slow." That one consumed time. I think because there were so many spaces left on the tile after everything else was found, it just kept me searching for every "W" I could find. Finally, I found the little bugger. If I was being pursued by zombies, and my life depended on completing this puzzle asap, for sure I would have been bitten.
Hello staiNed
I found this just today, hot off the press.
What I love:
I love me some Stephen King novels and movies. I immersed myself into the tile, until I came out victorious after finding all the titles!
The Puzzle:
You picked some good choices to highlight in this 25 word-search puzzle. I found the titles starting with "the" got me someplace fast. However, knowing how difficult it is to find those tiny words, I went for "It" first, so it wouldn't get too hidden within the horror-laced puzzle.
Parting Thoughts:
Yes, Stephen is the master of horror books. The movies had their drawbacks, some much better than others. I used to dislike when they took his shorter stories and made them for TV. One example is The Langoliers. That could have been shown in one a one night movie rather than sticking in lots of filler to get folks glued to TV more than one night while putting up with copious commercials.
Conclusion:
Always fun spending time with a such a master of horror, especially this time of year.
A little raven told me you created another Halloween/Horror Word Search puzzle. Listening to ravens as much as possible, I found my way here.
Let's get to it:
25 horror-filled words to find pertaining to various ghosts, ghouls, witches and werewolves splattered all over the tile. What could be more appropriate for the season?
Included in the search were some favorite movies such as Friday The Thirteenth, Mummy and a must see slasher film ...Chainsaw! All the spine tingling moments of screams and popcorn being tossed all over in an attempt to cover eyes and ears.
Furthermore:
We can go furthermore for evermore if we wish as creators of these puzzles. So much fun and goosebumps written into a tile filled with scary moments while watching or reading about these infamous characters.
Parting Thoughts:
The puzzle was an interesting solve since a couple short words were hidden within the longer ones. I'm getting pretty good at finding those little buggers lately.
I came across your poem perusing the Public Reviews page.
My Thoughts:
Your title and brief description pulled me in. I have been a traveler, even living in 4 time zones, so I can relate to this poem.
Further Thoughts:
The free verse poetry paints a vivid picture of the brief stop at a cheap hotel and taking in the local color as quick as a flash, before feeling it would not be a good stay for you. Especially at 4 in the morning. I've come across some strange parking lot visuals trying to find a place to rest for a few hours. Sometimes it was back in the car and on the highway out before even walking into the hotel.
Parting Thoughts:
I loved the brevity of the poem and the fact that it produced many traveling images in my mind at a flash!
I am reviewing this item because it popped up on the Random Read & Review.
Initial Thoughts:
Great title and brief description of what is so true these days. Even the dollar store is a Buck and a Quarter store, now.
Further Thoughts:
You work the disgruntled shopper at the register check out, with your character in shock over the sticker shock. The whole thing was shocking, really!
Observation:
"toot sweet" ... Tout de suite" would be the proper French way to spell it. However, I do find amusement in the "toot" part since there was a bathroom reference.
Parting Thoughts:
I like the way you mentioned the long line of disgruntled customers who just wanted to check out and leave the store. Keeping them waiting for a second totaling of the items ...priceless! I wouldn't want to meet them all in the parking lot after that. Good thing she needed to make a stop in the rest room before leaving.
This story hit the point in very few words. It's a good flash fiction story.
You dropped this little link in response to my Newsfeed inquiry for MORE Halloween/Horror Word Search Puzzles. I am here to take the challenge!
Overall Thoughts:
OH, my stars ... I love this horror movie puzzle. So many of them I have enjoyed. In fact I'm watching a horror movie as I type. I really soak up the season of the Witch with gumption!
Further Thoughts:
This is an aggressive horror show puzzle consisting of 25 spine-tingling movies that nightmares are born from. I pictured so many scenes in many of those movies.
My most time consumed word was the shortest one "It" which of course was well hidden within the tile. There were so many "I's and T's" all over the puzzle. None of them worked until finally I found the right pair of letters that turned the puzzle green! Yesssssssssssss!!! I was undefeated amid all the horror.
Observation:
Simple typo ..."A Quite Place" should be A Quiet Place I have turned letters in spelling myself due to my dyslexia, so I understand. I didn't catch it while uncovering it. After I saw the completed puzzle on green background, it seemed to jump out at me.
Parting Thoughts:
This was such a fun and spirited puzzle for the season and in celebration of Spooktober! I like that!
I'm throwing in a few GPs for your responding to my request for horror word search puzzles and making me cringe as I uncovered the horror!!!
I love the little poetic intro above the tile. Very cool! It made the puzzle welcoming. The player is teased by such an intro. I know I was!
The powerful words chosen wove in the scary scenes.
Further Thoughts:
The puzzle consisted of 20 words. It was a bit of a challenge finding some of them. I'd say I got a good mental workout.
It's those small words that know how to hide on a tile. I actually think they get away from me even after I saw them in a glance, askance!
Parting Thoughts:
Thank you for calling my attention to this word search. I'm trying to get my frightful appetite for Spooktober sated ... but I still want MORE!!!
Conclusion:
Okay, I saw this posted on my Newsfeed request for Halloween, horror and the likes, Word Search puzzles. Of course I bit! I was curious about the scary words starting with the letter "D."
Overall Thoughts:
There are some scary words listed to uncover on the tile. You've got a full tile, 25 words and they were done decisively! "Death" was missing ... let's face it That could be scary. "Demon" would be another scary word starting with a "D."
Parting Thoughts:
You have some dramatically, delicious and dangerous words woven within the puzzle. There was no "danger" though from what I could see.
All in all, this was a fun puzzle to do filled with some very cringey words!
Conclusion:
Not the Horror level I was seeking, but still in the deviously delicious dark-side.
I was drawn to this word search puzzle for some odd reason. Thanks for taking my Newsfeed challenge to create a Halloween/horror type of puzzle for Spooktober!
Further Thoughts:
Eerie song tiles does fit the bill for this time of year. Great subject matter. I enjoyed uncovering each of them on the tile. Of course, the last word found was fire, one of the shortest to find in a puzzle of longer words. But that's okay, I'm game for the game!
Parting Thoughts:
The song Radioactive is stuck in my head, now.
I did enjoy your "totally stream of consciousness in a spare moment," intro. Love that spur of the moment creative touch.
A little bat told me you created a Halloween/Horror type of Word Search puzzle! Well actually, I was tagged on the Newsfeed. I'm thrilled, though, because this is the type of puzzle I can really sink my teeth into!
My Thoughts:
It's an amazing tile filed with spooky, creepy and horror-sizzling words to kick off the season of the witch.
I love how you wove in many Halloween Handles roaming the halls of WDC. It certainly is looking spooky-festive around here.
The puzzle itself was a good, moderate level search.
Parting Thoughts:
I'm so pleased you created this spirited word search puzzle. You are a real ghoul-getter!
I'm here to review your Dark Shadow's Word Search puzzle!
How did I get here?
I heard my name being called out from Collinswood and I came here as soon as I could.
I was pleasantly surprised to find myself in the world of Dark Shadows, surrounded by some very familiar faces and places, from Widow's Hill to the Old House and then off to The Blue Whale.
Further Thoughts:
I loved how so many scenes unfolded while I was solving the puzzle. In fact, I currently have Dark Shadows on while I'm doing this. I'm over in a parallel time, though.
I hear the music box playing Josette's tune. So many fun times reliving the series. I had forgotten many of the shows because it has been so long since I had last seen it.
Parting Thoughts:
Thank you so much for creating this hauntingly wonderful, Dark Shadow's word search puzzle! I love that is dedicated it to me since I do love the show as you know and I know you love it as well!
I'm glad I asked for somebody to create a Horror Word search on the Newsfeed. But the theme of this one is perfect! It really puts the spirit into the season.
Conclusion:
Fabulous! I thoroughly enjoyed it! I look forward to more!
Thank you for responding to my Newsfeed request for Horror/Halloween type Word Searches!
Opening Thoughts:
Ooooh, I love the unique puzzle of words pertaining to ingredients used in witchy spells. I do have an affinity to snail slime. Seriously, you had some great ingredients to uncover on the tile.
Further Thoughts:
It was a fairly quick solve as many of the words were longer ones. There's only so many places they could hide.
Parting Thoughts:
I had a great time gathering the ingredients for a bit of hocus pocus. Hopefully I don't mix my mushrooms with my fingernail cuttings. That would be a scratchy potion to swallow.
Conclusion:
Wonderfully creative and unique Halloween Word Search Puzzle for this Spooktacular time of year!
Thank you for responding to my request for a Horror/Halloween themed Word Search puzzle.
I'm thrilled to do this hot off the press word search.
"With some villains,
their reputation precedes them,
so only a first name is provided."
Absolutely true! I loved that I could picture the villians in my mind while uncovering them on the tile.
Further Thoughts:
This is a slasher/freak & fiend fest in 25 words. All of it fun!
I managed to uncover all the characters without having to dig too deep.
Parting Thoughts/Conclusion:
This was an entertaining puzzle. was happy to see some of my favorite horror story villains. Hey, you even threw in Hannibal!
this puzzle really celebrates the season of the witch to perfection! Thank you so much for creating this activity. I loved it!
It's funny I just put a request out on the Newsfeed for some horror-type word searches. I decided to check the Browse By Type page to see if there were any I haven't seen before. I know I played one of your horror-theme searches the other day, but saw this one on that first page that I haven't played.
What I Liked:
I really like getting into the Halloween spirit, seeing tomorrow's October 1st. This fills that bill with its horror themed movie objects. What a way to satisfy the blood lust surrounding all things horror and spooky.
Parting Thoughts:
I had a jolly old time uncovering the hidden words that relate to horror shows. I'm glad I found this one. I will be out searching for more seasonal fun and spooky themes during this upcoming month.
You knew I'd be all over this one. I believe I saw your teaser of it on the Newsfeed. It was right in front of my face so I couldn't resist.
What I loved:
I am a huge fan of Downton Abbey and especially the character of Violet. I loved that you created this puzzle about Dame Maggie Smith and some of the many roles she's played over the years. I was saddened by her passing, yesterday. I felt like this was a fond remembrance of her memorable characters. She was so very talented!
Further Thoughts:
Your choice of roles she's played to uncover in the puzzle were good picks. It made me think outside Downton Abbey to other movies I loved watching her in. I enjoyed Sister Act with her playing a Mother Superior nun.
Parting Thoughts/Conclusion:
Thank you for creating this Word Search puzzle in honor of Maggie Smith. She will be remembered fondly.
I searched for a different type of subject matter word search and found this one. Area 51 -- how cool is this to tackle!!!
What I liked:
I enjoyed finding so many key words that we associate with Area 51. I keep X-Files in my mind while I solve it. There were always good shows dealing with aliens and super secret bases.
Further Thoughts:
This is a good size puzzle--25 words which fills a tile practically to the brim.
Most were jump-out words that were easy to find. I think bigger words tend to be easier to uncover than shorter words that hide deeply within the tile. There are exceptions to that observation of course ... It took me light years to find "light years" It was the last hidden word I found in the puzzle.
Parting Thoughts/Conclusion:
I really enjoyed playing this puzzle. It has interesting subject matter and gave me a bit of a challenge at the end. It wakes the brain to tackle other chores to do for the day.
I found your Word Search puzzle on the Activities@Writing.com page!
It was right there in front of me. A brand spanking new word search for me to play. I couldn't resist--it was just meant to be!
What I liked:
You had me at Horror Weapons! What a unique and timely puzzle this is. It's almost horror month on WDC with October and leading up to Halloween.
Additional Thoughts:
It is a good size, 20 words to uncover. I had fun finding those weapons and thinking of the movies they are associated with.
I approached this one differently than I usually do. It takes discipline to do it this way. I did it word by word, first column up to the third. I felt so organized in my weapon search!
Usually, I just scan the puzzle and grab obvious jump-out words. This was kind of fun to do in order of their place on the list.
Parting Thoughts/Conclusion:
Well, I'm delighted I found a new puzzle to play that gets me in the Halloween horror movies mood!
I came across this word search puzzle. I've become very fond of playing these puzzles, lately. Yours showed up on the page where I pressed completely random on the puzzle page type.
Why I decided to stop in and play?
It was the title. I remember the Golden Girls fondly. Actually, my mother had watched them when they first came out and I hadn't done so, yet. I called her one evening and she said, "Could I call you back? I'm watching the Golden Girls." Then my curiosity got the best of me and I turned the show on. Well, needless to say, I got to love the show, too.
Further Thoughts:
Your 25 word puzzle was a joy to work. I loved all the words related to Golden Girls. As I uncovered each of them, I had memories of the show and those priceless characters. I even made one mean cheesecake!
Parting Thoughts:
What a joy it was to find this word search puzzle. It brought me back to those "Golden" days!
Conclusion:
It is indeed a wonderful tribute to the comedic genius that was this series!
Review!
I am reviewing your poem because it popped up on the random Read & Review, click.
Initial Impression:
Your title and brief description honor those who have put life and limb on the line to keep our country free and safe.
Further Thoughts:
No better or truer words have been said than the ones your poem so meticulously expresses. I love that you were able to paint a vivid picture using 11 lines.
The form is an acrostic that spells out Memorial Day. It is well-crafted to make or an easy flow from one letter to the next. You use a wrap when needed, to maintain flawless flow of sentence structure. Many times I've read acrostic poems that end each line on the letter that is the beginning of the sentence. This could make for short clips of thoughts rather than expanding in a natural way.
Kudos for using the poetic options that keep the imagery of the poetry flowing smoothly in our mind's eye without causing a undue pause in the reading.
Parting Thoughts:
Manifesting into the greatest nation
Solemn Remembrance
Radical elements
These are strong words that remind a reader what serving our country is really about.
Conclusion:
Wonderful poem that tells the truth and touches the heart.
I found your word search puzzle on the "Browse By Type." I enjoy doing Word Search puzzles.
This is a very interesting puzzle to uncover, about searching for the names of minerals within the tile. I love these types of puzzles with a refreshing subject matter.
Further Thoughts/Suggestions:
I just have a little suggestion. I think you should have and image and a few lines, different font/color above the tile that will make it eye appealing and draw a player in. However, the puzzle itself is interesting and fun. It was a smooth solve which makes it entertaining as well as fun!
Conclusion:
It gets 5.0 stars from me for the entertainment value.
Good job!
I came across your Bee-utiful word search puzzle doing a random choice on Browse By Type. The busy bees buried within, convinced me to try to at least wing it.
My Thoughts:
I enjoyed uncovering all those 25 words on the tile that have things to do with bees. It was a well developed puzzle with a crossover word hidden within another word such as "honey" within the word "honeycomb." Most were easy to find. A few kept me bumbling around tile like a drone locked out of the nest.
Further Thoughts:
I think this puzzle will be all the buzz for those who play it. Buzzing was the first word to jump out at me. Nest was the last. It's those smaller words that get themselves well hidden.
I'd say this was a moderate level puzzle. A couple stings along the way, but then it was as sweet as honey.
Parting Thoughts:
I enjoyed the puzzle. But I also loved your intro over the top of the tile. Your bitty-bee game kept my bee-brain busy.
