I am looking forward to November, because...
Give us as many reason as you want about why you are looking forward to November.

I am looking forward to November, because the Twin Holy Days will be celebrated in on November 9 and 10. These are my favorites because they celebrate the Birth of the Bab and the Birth of Baha'u'llah. Since 2015, these two Holy Days are celebrated on "the first and the second day following the occurrence of the eighth new moon after Naw-Rúz".3 This means that these celebrations fall on different day each year.


Other days to remember in November are World Citizen Day  Open in new Window. on November 4, Universal Children's Day  Open in new Window. on November 20, Thanksgiving Day on November 22, the Day of the Covenant on November 26, and the Ascension of 'Abd'l-Baha on November 28. Since I'm not planning on participating in NaNoWriMo this year, I'll focus on other writing activities, such as "30-Day Blogging Challenge ON HIATUS" Open in new Window. and different contests.

Write about the weather where you are. Looks like on the weather channel, there's quite a variance among us.

It's a beautiful autumn day here in Las Vegas. The sun is shining through a few fluffy white clouds. The birds are singing, the people are play and making happy sounds. I don't hear any dogs barking or cat meowing, so they are probably happily sleeping, playing, or staring at their people.

Five Things I Like About Myself

This prompt is getting me out of my comfort zone, which is a good thing. I normally don't think about, or even list, the things about myself that I like. I think it has to do with leftover dogma from my childhood. I was taught, or picked up from the way other people talked and acted, that I wasn't supposed to consider the good things about myself. This may be part of my low self-esteem issues, which I still confront.


*Cut* I cut and dye my gray hair once a month. This is a wonderful achievement because it makes me feel younger. I don't like to have my hair too long because it's difficult to wash, dry, and take care of, with short hair I can use a brush to keep it neat.

*Laugh* My sense of humor, which is improving with the years. True there are many who may believe my sense of humor is weird, among other things, that's alright. As long as I can laugh, and find some of things I do amusing it doesn't matter what other people think.

*Quill* I write poetry. I write poetry about anything that inspires me. I have several poems and books in my port that contain my poems. There are two books--"Devotional Poetry" Open in new Window. and "Poem Experiments" Open in new Window.--that I had poem to just about every week. The goal is to add poem to them every day or so.

*Spider* I'm confronting and overcoming my fear of spiders. A few days ago, when I went into the bathroom, there was a huge--it looked to me like it was gigantic--spider crawling around the trashcan. I went after the bitch, and killed it.

*Planet* I'm a world citizen, who was born and lives in the United States. I attempt to practice my citizenship through activities in the nation of my birth.
