How very sad. The self-defeating behavior illustrated in this piece just tears at the heart. It is hard to tell if you lost the girl due to drinking or were drinking because of the loss of another love. Which shows the complexity of the human condition. I really enjoyed this piece. Good job.

Absolutely lovely description of friendship.Sometimes the bond between friends can be stronger and deeper then between lovers. I sense great loss in this piece, and I am sorry for your loss. I found this piece an effective illustration of the continued sense of the loss of a loved one. The piece shows the deep pain and the still remaining connection to the lost loved one. The beginning and ending being both about doing the walk on the departed's birthday makes a nice completion.
