Review of School Starts
Review by sadorose
Rated: 13+ | (5.0)
A fun little (only referring to size) poem about school. It captures the fun and chaotic energy of children, not just in school, but in life. I had a smile through the entire poem. It brings memories of childhood past. The flow just easily pulled me through the entire piece. I enjoyed reading this.

Review of Ant Wars
Review by sadorose

An intriguing microcosm of the world. It effectively illustrates the apparently impossible to decipher causes and costs of war. I liked the line about not knowing if there are even good guys, effectively reflects the ambiguity of human battles. I enjoyed reading this.

Quite the intense chapter. A very dramatic illustration of an abusive relationship. I like how you only hint that she might not die from the fall. It makes you want to read more in hopes of finding out if she makes it and if she manages to get the justice she deserves. I enjoyed reading this chapter.

Review of The Reckoning

A very dark Christmas tale. It is sad that he learned when it was too late. An interesting tale that shows that your sins can follow you for eternity. It was almost unfair that he was punished for something that he, in his present incarnation was innocent of. The vileness of how he killed that poor dog, cried out for justice, even in the next life, so it was fair. He died how he killed. I enjoyed this story.

Review of Halloween

A lovely poem showing how Hermione is always an outcast, except by Harry and Ron. I like how you hid her sadness until the last line. The imagery illustrates her isolation and being bullied. The flow was easy to follow through the entire poem. I enjoyed reading this.

Review of word magic

A very eloquently expressive poem. It is insightful, especially for your young age. Repeating the lines in the beginning and in the end tied the entire piece together like a neat little package. The flow easily carries the reader along the entire poem. I enjoyed reading this.

Review of To Plough The Sea
Review by sadorose

A very important story about how revolutions never turn out the way the rebels hope for. The oppressive "masters" just change. The characters were believable icons of the opposing ideals. It does tell the sad story of revolution. Ending it with the posing of a question was an effective tool to engage the reader's mind. I enjoyed reading this.

A delightful Christmas poem. It showed the joy and chaos of the holiday in a very fun and lighthearted way. I liked how you put the gentle reminder of the reason for Christmas. It had a nice, easy to follow flow. Showing the madness that is Christmas shopping, without making a speech about commercialism/materialism was a challenge you rose to. I enjoyed reading this poem.

Review of Wire Walker

A very entertaining, albeit brief story. I liked how you handled Marc's dream just as respectfully as if it were a "more important" dream. The circus came to life in your little (referring only to length of story not quality). The protagonist was very believable. I enjoyed reading this.

Review of Father Fares Well

What a precious snapshot of family life. Scenes similar to this are played out daily worldwide, making this a very relatable story. The characters were engaging and believable as is the story. This short story exemplifies the work-home balance most working families strive to achieve. I enjoyed reading this.

Review of The Collection

Having the turn crook was an interesting twist. Naithan was a very naughty boy. Ending it right at the moment when she noticed her pieces was a good choice. The question posed in the description about what those items have in common went unanswered, leaving the reader to think on the question. I like pieces that work my brain. I enjoyed this story.

Review of The Red Eminence

A very engaging story. The characters were "True to life". The ending leaves the reader wanting more. Historical fiction is a challenge, and you have risen to it. I like how you leave the question of what actually happened to Gaston unanswered. The thirst for justice in regards to Armand go unquenched . I enjoyed reading this.

A terribly amusing poem. I loved the humorous, very unexpected twist at the end. The imagery of a lovely tea was in juxtaposition to the husband mooning them trough the frosted bathroom window. It made me want to have some tea too. I enjoyed reading this.

Review of Four Feathers

What a beautiful story poem. The flow just easily carried me along from beginning to end. The images of the feathers was lovely. I like how you made a simple feather significant and almost magical. The connecting them to angels watching over us was a very nice touch. I enjoyed reading this.

Review of The Sailboat

An important question is raised by this poem. That question is, can something small survive the harshness of the world? I believe, yes it can. I liked how you ended it with a question that challenges the reader to think. The imagery of a tiny craft adrift, lost on a stormy sea was sad, yet hopeful. I enjoyed reading this.

A beautiful example of the Acrostic poem. The love you feel shines throughout. The phrase that the first letters of each line spell out is a lovely phrase. I like how that is reinforced by being the title and the opening line. It just grabs you and pulls you along easily through the entire poem. I enjoyed reading this.

Good for you for "moving the f*** on". Not everybody is luck enough to leave abusive relationships. Your "story" could help some of them find their way out. I am glad you realized that you are worthy and do not deserve to be hurt like that. Thank you for sharing.

A happy internet into real world story. It is wonderful that you found a true friend. The narrative of this autobiographical story was almost conversational, which I liked. It was like having tea or coffee with you as you relate this story. I enjoyed reading this.

A beautiful rendition of passing over. I felt for both of the characters in such a brief story. Having them help each other to cross over was a very precious ending. Having the little girl say goodbye to her mother was heartbreaking. The lesson that letting go is important to moving on, even to helping loved ones move forward. I enjoyed this story.

A very interesting chapter. I am unfamiliar with the source story for this fan fiction, but I still found it engaging. I love how you ended the chapter at the perfect moment. It pulls you in. The mystery of what is happening makes the reader want to continue. I enjoyed reading this.

A very dramatic poem. The imagery was dark, but a little bit of light. I like how she is revealed to herself. The flow easily picked me up and carried me along through the entire poem. If only it were that easy to find yourself after being lost. I enjoyed reading this.

I am right there with you on the love of the rain. I so love a good rainstorm. I find the line about finding inner peace very relatable. The entire poem rings true for me. I really enjoyed this.

It is extremely hard being "the new kid". I hope you found your place and made some friends so you no longer felt so alone. A pretty eloquent expression of your teen-aged angst created by being dropped into a strange land. Thank you for sharing that vulnerability. It may let others not feel so alone.

Poor Lily, after all that effort, she still is the same "dork" she was in high school. Just like when going back home to visit the parents, you revert back to being the child, going back to your old school, you revert to your role. I really enjoyed reading this.
