I loved this wonderful little lighthearted poem of yours. It is a curious sight to see when observing people at the check out counter. You see all kinds there, both some who do and some who don't care. I am one of those with all of the above and for those checks I have no love.
I do very much like your work my friend. Keep sharing.
An excellent story about a nobleman turned story teller and his assistant. When you consider the time period and what entertainment was available to the average person. It was a good way to make some money and obtain a warm place to sleep. I was especially surprised to see the story written in the vernacular of the day. Nicely penned my friend. Keep sharing.
I live not too far from the Genesee River gorge in Letchworth State Park in western NY.
There is a red oak tree part way through the park that still stands at the edge of a five hundred foot precipice. Tenacity is the word for persistence and determination. I penned a verse for it. Your most excellent poem sheds light on nature's profound defiance and tenacity in the face of overwhelming odds. Somehow nature always tries to work things out. Thanks for sharing this beautiful poem.
Eight stanzas of the true retirement saga. I know what they mean now when they say the golden years. The only thing that is golden is the sunset as we drag are old butts into it. Now they want us to work to seventy and beyond just to milk the old folks for every dime they can. They would much rather you work until you drop dead. That way you get zero benefits. It is a sad state of affairs we are in now. Your wonderful poem touched on some excellent examples of what is out there for the elderly. Thanks for sharing.
It's sad how kids remember what words and emotions hurt the most. In this case it was important but one parent doesn't think so. It's too bad for his loss. They grow up fast and leave those who "ain't important" in the dust or an old folks home. Thanks for sharing.
A very, very nice tribute to your Australian Shepherd Bruhni. She certainly loves her master dearly and quite as much as her master loves her. It sounds like a mutual pact between old friends, one of them being Man's best friend! Thanks for sharing this fabulous poem my friend.
Your little fiction caught my attention. It was a very nice creation about rats and spiders. This nicely penned work showed good progression for its length and the right amount of detail to leave the reader salivating for another bite. Keep writing and sharing my friend.
I liked this creative science fiction story of a young stir crazy lieutenant's joyride with the ship's shuttle. It follows its plot an good succession and has a terribly violent end for the captain and eventually the crew. Aliens eating humans, interesting. Anything is possible. Well penned my friend.
This was an excellent Halloween story in anybody's eyes. Form and flow a treat to behold with smooth as silk caressing skin goosebumps when you realize no one is there. Spelling and grammar all in order. A very nicely penned poem and a pleasure to peruse.
Mothers have that scary look in their eyes when the crap is about to fly. They have a second sight when it comes to their little bubblegum chewing monsters and you better snap to attention when you're threatened with Mom! I know for I was one of those little monsters once a long, long time ago. Thanks for sharing this wonderful piece of childhood.
And stories like this become legend. Aunt Gloria's late hubby must have had some green and I don't mean beans either! A four karat real deal and a fake for the thieves would set you back some serious coin. Thanks for sharing this clever little family fiction and keep writing.
A body in the closet will ruin anybody's day now, won't it. Nice murder plot my friend and a ride home from the scene of the crime with the victim's wife. As I read I noticed that the writer of this saga had a talented knack for the mysterious. Keep sharing and writing.
A poem of the elements and crafted very beautifully. Excellent poetry and visions abound in this one. The words flow like silk over the skin and visualizations send shivers up the back bone. All the senses are tantalized in this sirens call to those poetic sailors dying to perform. It was a privilege to peruse this superb work. Keep sharing my friend.
A truly beautiful poem about St. Dominick's on Canal St. and the faded gray x. Katrina was a monster of a storm and took many lives. It is a terrible thing to lose loved ones to a storm. But many live through storms and the grace of God touches all who believe in him. Thanks for sharing the elegant and touching poem.
At some time in the future humanity will realize that some jobs one to soil their hands to make a living. Those are the jobs that have to be done. I liked your poem extolling the virtues of the working class. Let's hope that the machines don't take all the jobs like in the days of "The Terminator." Thanks for sharing this poem with us.
An excellently penned story of a boy and his scary dreams. The cast his toys and Big Bird as his final imaginary threat. Nicely worded and well developed imagery for a children's story. All the fears present that a young person can imagine. Thanks for sharing.
Nicely penned my friend and shows a close bond with both your son and your grandson. Easy reading and a good family topic. Now a young boy has a profound view of his father because his grandfather took the time to talk to him. Keep writing these most excellent stories and poems.
A brilliant poem about the widow and her lack of companionship. She's always walking in the darkness of loss. Short powerful and a pleasure to peruse. A multitude of emotions displayed in grand visual portrayal. Keep writing and sharing this very finely penned work.
It didn't sound like you were sippin a drink to me but hey what are experiences for? You found yourself in the arms of good old Jack Daniels. I used to drink that stuff until the Doc told me I better slow down. I've been pretty good since then. Keep sharing and writing.
That's why all refrigerator doors not in use are to be removed. Boy were you lucky! Lucky God and grandfather were there to intervene and save your young life for something special. Maybe Writing.Com. Thankfully they found you and you didn't suffocate. Thanks for sharing.
Great fiction in the old west fashion. The hangin tree and a family reunion all wrapped into one good tale. You held the surprise of the brother until the end which made for a good story with a twist. Looks like the sheriff doesn't get his hangin after all. Thanks for sharing.
A backwoods Christian camp is as good a place as any to find yourself and God.
If you find one you'll find the other and no matter which way it goes, you'll find happiness. Nature and God go together like peanut butter and jelly, never to be apart. Thanks for sharing this story.
Well done my friend. An excellent poem of the crossroads of life and the choices we make every day. A bridge is a sad place to make those life altering changes in your life. Sometimes however it is necessary to gaze into oblivion to see it grinning back. I loved this poem. Thanks for sharing.
Fourteen stanzas of how to be happy in your own skin while living your own life. There's nothing wrong with that train of thought. In fact I kind of like it. We are all creatures of habit and this well versed poem was a pleasure to read. It flows like silk and is a delight for the poetic palate. Thanks for sharing.
The tepid waters of approval can sometimes be a scary place to dangle your toes but is the place you have to go if you ever want to get anywhere in writing.
Approval is the life blood that flows through every writer's veins and keeps the story alive. We live and breathe for it. Your essay was interesting. Keep sharing.
