This was beautiful. Really. In my country, Brazil, there are many, many battered and abused women suffering daily torments and not being able to a anything about it --- there aren't even shelters to run to and if you go to the Delegacia da Mulher (Women's Police Headquarters) there are policemen there to help you - not policewomen. It's a sad reality and still - even in our modern times - it's a world that belongs mostly to men (especially in South America and Brazil). Nice work. Christina Daltro

I like the way you use words --- especially the adverbs, as Brazilians do - we like describing colors and images and we speak with deep emotion. As you did. It was really scary and I couldn't stop reading your story. You have a really different way of writing words and ideas. Your style is direct and immediate, so different from mine. I liked it but I was a bit confused in the end. Maybe it's my Portuguese vs English "twisted" mind that makes it difficult for me to understand English to its fullest.
