This stuffed Beanie Baby dog came tagged "tracker" which fits my search for knowledge.

Here are words I like to write
All day long 'til it is night.
Words go up and words go down
When complete approve the sound.

If you complete my little rhyme,
Things will come your way in time.

Still working on my plans for the year. Put some in place already setting habits to perform without much thought.

The kids put up my new huge TV and got me signed into all the premium channels. Tonight I watched "Die Harder" which made me think about Bruce Willis and his affliction.

Prompt: 2024
What do you expect from 2024? What or who will you turn to when you want to learn more or do more in the coming year? In what ways does 2024 excite or captivate you?

I expect a good year. I thrive on knowledge and usually will seek it from the internet. Some believe that is one of the main reasons we are here; to gain as much knowledge as we can which we take with us after we die. I don't have that same thinking. It is helpful to be informed not only about current events by the history behind them. How did they become events and so on.

I will continue to call on my WdC friends for help. I had a great laminated guide to use and it got legs and walked away without saying goodbye. I am as excited and captivated as I am every January 1st. The slate is wiped clean. This year is a pivotal one for completing many writing projects.

Birthday #75

It will be all about me today. I wait 365 days for a birthday to roll around just like everyone else.

Unlike most, the day I am waiting for his the last day of the year.

Resolved:
Today I am going to be active at WdC the entire day. Starting here at 4 am. I will celebrate and record the special event of 75 trips around the sun to taking a peek at every person's port I come in contact with today, leaving a note, and generally put tracker on the map today. The first order of business was to share my exclusive but available to anyone registered here the free trinket, the 2nd one i ever made.
1. Here it is in case you missed it:

Blog City image large

Blog City prompt: Let this quote inspire your entry today: “I prefer winter and fall, when you feel the bone structure of the landscape. Something waits beneath it; the whole story doesn’t show.” — Andrew Wyeth Or discuss Wyeth's work if you need more inspiration.

I knew the name Andrew Wyeth although I did not recall his paintings nor his style. I researched his biography and learned a few things.

~Growing up, he was in frail health
~He was taught at home by his father his entire life
~His father died when his car stalled on train tracks. He had a 3-year-old nephew with him. Both were killed.
~He lived to age 98, dying in his sleep.

The main takeaway from my research is that Wyeth believed that you do what you do in life not looking for recognition or popularity. If you do what is your best work and paint what you have a passion for, it does not matter what people think of the result.

I see this extends to writers. To an extent a writer writes for an audience, generally of enthusiasts of the genre that the work is written in. I think I write partly paying attention to my audience. I take more time and attention if I know for sure someone will read it like for a writing contest. I have written a few things here at WdC that received constructive feedback. I realized I published the piece hastily. I learned from that. Now, I seem to be more prepared and write what I love and think I do well.

The countdown is down to 2 days. By the last day of the year, having my birthday is kind of an afterthought. I dwell mainly because it is the big seventy-five.

I was going to see my best friend in real life for the first time in 11 years today. It did not pan out. Will try again tomorrow.

Blog City Prompt,

Prompt: "There's nothing more beautiful than the way the ocean refuses to stop kissing the shoreline, no matter how many times it's sent away. Sarah Kay Write about this in your Blog entry today.

Steady as she goes. The water rushes to the sand as far as its momentum will take it.
Just as quickly it recedes from whence it came.
Watching for a while it soothes, mesmerizes. It is the sound that is beautiful the rumble in then the sucking noise as it is swallowed back up by the ocean. I miss living near the ocean. I do have the sound of the water rushing in and flowing back again on my sound machine. I can listen to it anytime without having to fight the crowds and be exposed to the hot sun and hot sand to be there in person.

In this day and age, it is possible to experience just about anything virtually.

Today is the 9th anniversary of my brother's death. It is also his birthday. He would have been 77 years old.

I miss Harry dearly.

My memory is not the best. I would rate it poor. I have no clue about even one thing I wrote about in my lost entry yesterday.

Moving on.

My Christmas was wonderful although my daughter was not up to cooking. We will have a huge dinner when she feels better. My grandson gave me a picture he drew of me. I think I will post an entry about it. I have a warm new robe and slippers, lots of M&Ms, and a new sewing basket. I am over the moon and happy with everything.

2024 is looking good.

I am hoping for a miracle that the entry I just wrote shows up somewhere. I am not rewriting it. Maybe bad omen for today?
