W'atcha Doin?
This gave me several good chuckles.. I'm not a true southerner either, I was born and raised in East Los Angeles,aka LA. California. Where you can see in one day, the beach, desert, snowy mountains, and beautiful lakes hidden in the mountains. I came to Oklahoma in 1986, I was twenty-three years old.

Wow! That was a serious culture shock. People were waving as we drove by and I was ducking down into my seat hoping I wasn't going to get shot at; (The reason I left) but that's another story!

Through every crack within the words you've written, I see what your saying in this short masterpiece.. I was one of many who blamed God for my troubles and problems, but I never blamed him for taking the life of a loved one or friend.

My husband has told me time and time again that there are only two days that are the most important in life..The Day You are Born and the Day You Die.. What one chooses to do between those two days is what they leave behind good, and or bad.

But many don't ever get that chance to do anything between their day of life and their day of death, because it's the same day or maybe just a few weeks later. I know this first hand when my first baby died 10 hours after his birth.

Oh, I was upset as any new mother would be. Shock is a better word. But when I was told of my baby's lack of lung growth and that he will die, I prayed and prayed to God not to 'take' him, but nothing could have been done to save him.

So my prayers turned into prayers to God to 'care and hold my son for he is on his way to be with him.' And to let him know how much love I'll carry in my heart forever for him. "Mommy loves you baby, but God is going to take care of you and give you the breath you need to live in the house of Heaven. Until I see you again, You are my angel baby!"

I've lost a lot of family and friends since that day September 9th, 1986. But I know within my heart they will be okay, because they are with our Lord and He will love them forever.

It is 'NOT' God, or Jesus taking these people from our lives, it is other people or diseases or unfortunate happenings.

God, and Jesus are the ones who hold their souls for us in their hands of Love. Nothing more, nothing less!

When we pray we are asking God to come to help the person sick or dying and asking for his help in healing our broken hearts.

My belief is that through prayer, be it one person or many, it is the strength of the prayers, but sometimes death is certain, but that's when God performs miracles for them. And We Thank God, every time!
I'm sure he appreciates it too. Knowing His love is STRONG in those with a STRONG HEART!

True words spoken here Eric Wharton; My heart goes out to you and all others before you, who have made the choice to be sober and healthy or die a slow death..! Sorry, you have a liver disease,! My brother-in -law had Hep-C, and now with the miracle cure pills, it is gone from his body. He's lucky, I say, because he is the one who choose to stick the needles in his arms.. No one else, just him.!
But now he is cured! Awesome.! But there is another type of liver disease that has no cure and was not caused by anything I did..!
It's Primary Billery Cirrhosis.. Caused by having a weak, messed up Auto-immune system..! Plus it can run in the family.. That's when I found out my niece; 10 years my younger, got it 6 years prior to my diagnosis.. But she liked to drink, I don't.. Except on certain occasions or just with friends.. I never drank alone,, what's the fun in that?? Besides, I'm a Type 1 Diabetic since 1975.. Me and alcohol didn't get along very well.. Lol.. And still breathing and I have all my body parts plus about 18 awesome tattoos.. My son and I just last week got matching tattoos and I'm loving it..
I totally believe in the fact that there are; Angels among us.!
( no pun intended).
My first, baby Jared, my Mother, Grandmohers, and last year my Father are all Angels in my life until we meet again in the Lord house above.. Even though my plan is when my life passes it's last breath, I chose to be turned into Ash and to be mixed with the soil of the Earth and have an Evergreen tree planted🌲.. So I will continue to grow in the wake of a God given tree..!
So bless you for making a better choice for yourself and your family and friends..! 😎 I have seen death several times in my life, the first being the day I got Diabeties, I fell into a coma for five days, my rights were said to me, my Mother and Aunts, everyone who found out back then, Prayed for me,, and God heard their prayers, so I was given more time on earth, alive and breathing.. I cannot say I am well, because that's not true, but it is in my head, my feelings, and all that I so love..! I'll be 52 come May 12th.. And I plan to rejoice in my life with family and friends until I no longer can..! 😇😃

Wonderful, just, wonderful story Don Two..! I really liked how you used the prompt words in this story..! It also reminded me of a time long ago when I, myself was getting into working out. My goal then was to be a Mud Wrestler..! But, It didn't work out like I wanted. I did do a lot of body building back then, and loved it!

Hello roughwriter, Welcome to the WDC. I came across your short bio. As I read it, it began to create the images you wrote about in my head as though I was right there.! Your descriptions of the Bronx back in the day were as real as could be. My Mother used to tell me story's of her life growing up in Brooklyn, New York, Bronx, same thing, only feet away from another inner city line. My maternal-grand-parents worked every day and didn't own a car. or have a drivers license's. The things that were happening on this child's life is point on..! And sad too for the boy. His parents separating, when separating was not a very common way of life. You were looked down upon by others.
Nicely done and grammatically correct as I can see.

Happy Anniversary COUNTRYMOM, I just read this wonderful poem of 'Patience'. Your first verse- 'Patience is a virtue'; is something I've been saying to my husband for sixteen years now, and he finally get's it. It is a gift you give yourself for having the patience to wait for whatever your biggest need is. I really enjoyed the rhyme and flow of this poem and the way you described it in your own words. Hello David F. I came across your story in the review list. Your concern was if it captured enough attention to continue reading it. Well, in my opinion (only) my answer is Yes. Yes it did, I could see the story unveil itself in my head as I read it. As an animal lover myself, Butterball is truly a miracle. First he was saved by your family then to heal up after being accidentally run over, yet he survived. Then Butterball returning his love to save you from other bad tempered dog's is purely another miracle. Animals react as the person's or person treats the animal, good and bad. In this case, it was all good and he knew it. I enjoyed this short story about a faithful pet.

I really liked the way you described the scent of the beach and the way you described the details of the ocean and it's furry of the waves. It put me there once again. Hello bumblegrum. I was inspired to stop by when I read this title A Challenge To Fate. To me I hear what you say and understand your meaning. Only we can change the good and evil within ourselves. We cannot blame God or demons for what happens in this life, but we can turn the table and choose a brighter path. I carry sorrow for those who cannot make this change and die alone. For we who have Faith, we fear nothing but happiness and leave a stream of that happiness behind in hopes others drink from the Challenge To Fate. I love the idea of such a challenge and pray for mankind to accept the good and turn their darkness into everlasting light. Well written.

Hello Sum1. I stopped by for a read and this simple jester your poem talks about becomes a story of thoughtfulness and caring for others needs. I loved it, your rhyming with words to create such a poem, you did from the heart. After disappointment set in with the 'no shows' for a family picnic you in turn invite other family's to join in the festive picnic. Hello Jen, This is a very beautiful poem. Every word holds a meaning of love. I really liked how you started with the Eyes, then the Heart, Arms, your Souls and being finally Complete by finding your missing link. Then reading "Lasting a Lifetime". Sounds kinda like my relationship I have with my husband.
"Till Death Do Us Part" is tattooed on both the left side of our necks. For real, it was our tenth anniversary gift to each other, and I meant it!

I must say that your use of words is outstanding, and strong with felling and emotion. Your title is perfect for a story like this. My opinion only, your saying it is the choice of the person to rebuild their ruins, or ignore their ruins and move on. But it's the packing of baggage ones decides is important to leave behind or take and start anew. Very interesting story and well thought out from a different point of view. Hello Nish, Welcome to WDC! I came upon this in the Newbie reviews. " She' In my opinion only, talks about Mother Nature; is how I thought of it, and her beauty, her sternness, and cautions, and of rain and how she wishes to protect mankind from her wrath. I enjoyed it! and your ending added humor to the story... which I liked as well.
I did notice a couple small mistakes, in your sixth chapter;(she opened her eyes and looked high as(for) / far as she could.) Change to far.
Your seventh paragraph there is no need to capitalize (Of) change to -of-.
Other than that, I liked this story very well. Good punctuation's, good comma placements, good structure and nice use of wording your view of beauty. Whatever it may be! Good Luck, and write on!

Hello PrettyKitty, I came upon your story in the newbie list. Welcome to WDC. I was drawn in by your title. "Bad Boy Games" . After reading it I see many girls getting hurt in this manner by a bad boy. As a parent and an ex~young girl once upon a time. The people who love you most are the ones telling you TO GET AWAY FROM HIM! Especially if he has a reputation. It only makes sense in the truth, but you don't want to hear the truth. Until it hits you in the face like a hard slap. And it leaves a hand print on your face. A reminder that next time you will listen to the ones you already know love you. They have no reason to lie.
Now, that's what I liked about your story! Also your spacing is nicely done too!
Since your a Newbie as I was not long ago, I seen a lot of mistakes in wording, punctuation, sentence structure and missing words. (If you are speaking English) Emphasize slang when writing. And words that are numbers are to be spelled out. Unless it's clock time, but I'm not positive on that, I have been told myself to spell the number out.
Try taking a little more time on this: just as it is, but polished, so to say. Read it to yourself over and over until it sounds right to you, and read it here as I did. You will see. The edit sign pops up in the top right corner when you are in your portfolio. It looks like a gear circle.
I hope I've helped you in a good way. This is one of those stories young girls need to read every day, so broken hearts and liar's don't leave a print on you.
Ask for some help in editing from a more professional writer here at WDC. Just ask! I would like to read this again then. Good luck and write on!
