Two young people lost in a strange place are trying to find their mother.
The girl remembers about colors but that memory is falling away.
The boy doesn't remember colors at all.
The sky is gray and the water is almost black.
There are dead people floating in the water.
The children are frightened.
Where could this place be?
How did they get there?
Could there be some type of radiation affecting their memories?
So many possibilities.

Husbands sometimes don't fit the bill. They think a 'sweet talken' fellow can write his on ticket.
Our character won't give up though. She knows there is going to be one out there. She asks God this time to please send the right guy this time.
He does. She is finally with someone that will make it work. She won't feel empty and will feel loved.
Isn't that all what we want?
Someone to love us and mean it.

Have you ever been grieving and someone comes over with all the answers?
Well, they might mean well but it just doesn't help.
There is no quick fix for this type of pain.
It just won't be turned off like a light switch.
The bonds that were built will crumble but the memories will linger.
Think before you speak to someone hurting so badly. Maybe it would be better to just be there or even better to just listen. Don't offer any advice, just be a compassionate friend who listens with their heart.

She is tired of the every day grind of work.
Who among us can't relate to that?
Watching the clock and daydreaming. She pictures a desert beach.
She creates, who knows what, with paper clips as therapy.
Her mind drifts from books to butterflies.
Wanting tea but facing a mountain of mail.
What can help this poor woman?
The end of the work day, is what?
Get her out of there before her mind turns to mush.
Too much is too much.
Freedom, sweet sweet freedom is just outside her office door.

Lets say this is written by a friend.
Watching a family fall apart is heart breaking.
The friend apparently thinks it's a mistake because they love each other.
Time will come between them and they won't see each other.
Being apart will become easier and easier.
Throwing away what they invested in is sad indeed.

There are different ways of doing things and being understood.
One man happens to be a loud mouth. Until he makes his point, he won't shut up. The lack of respect given to his listeners is beyond comprehension.

Now, lets look at another man who thinks before he speaks. He goes over the material and with certainty makes his point. Quiet works for him.

Which of the two men is wise and deserves respect. The loud mouth or the one who shows credibility with every word.

They were young.
She was afraid to say things.
Then he came into her life. A special friend to bring her comfort and strength. He had her back and helped her though those tough times.
There were some tears but when he came around they no longer flowed.

What a wonderful feeling to know she can count on him. She does the same for him. Friends indeed that turned to love. This turned into something good.

Lets suppose we have a character trapped in deep depression by things that have hurt her badly.
She is afraid of every move she makes. What will happen if she were to try to escape this pit of despair? Will there be someone to help her or will those offering help just make matters worse?
When someone looses faith in those around them; they don't really believe they offer help. They are just trying to get inside her misery to inflict more.
It's like she is a caged bird; tormented by seeds just out of read. Hungry for compassion. Hungry for freedom. Most of all hungry for someone to tell the truth.

Here we have a woman who doesn't have a pet. There are reasons given. She sees her invaders coming to her door.
Kind hearted, whether she admits it or not, she opens a can of tuna to feed the mom and babies.
Invaders in her garden but still welcome to her care.

She stands in the background and watches the young woman giving so much to a cold man. Young love is felt by the young woman and doesn't understand that being taken for granted isn't right.
The watcher is only concerned with the young woman and how she will eventually be hurt. Years will pass by and she will slowly become less and less of herself. She could let her pride take over and never retreat from the situation. Upholding her dignity is what matters after a while.
Admitting that all the nay sayers were right is hard to swallow.
So her mother watches in pain.
Her mother can see the signs of her life being repeated right before her eyes.

Our author brings us a piece to inspire and motivate us this beautiful evening.
The piece takes us through the excitement of childhood. How things are simple then and our parents are the ones we count on.

Then comes adulthood, and with it comes bumps in the road. Things might be going just fine and then WHAM, here comes the storm.
How we deal with and get through the storm says a lot about how we are growing in our character. How we turn to God tells about how we are living in his words.

Storms are part of life. If we can't endure the storms how will we enjoy the blessed sunshine.

Most important part;

Here we have a character reflecting on married life. Trying and investing honestly in the marriage brought only disappointment and betrayal.
Now comes the part of coping with the knowledge that the one you thought you could trust is a liar.
Vows, were they merely words for the ceremony?
Sneaking around, was it fun and made it more exciting?
Was any thought given to the despicable actions that were taken?
Then the thought of looking at the one you are suppose to love and telling lies constantly.
Eventually you get caught in your web of lies.

Then what?

So if our character sounds bitter, why not?

What if your life was going well and someone took your freedom away. Your wings won't allow you to fly any longer. You can't achieve your goals and can't reach above your misery.
Finally, after realizing you weren't the kind to be broken or caged, the one responsible feels guilty and wishes to turn things around.

That happens sometimes, whether it be a parent or lover, they can say something to hurt a person. That hurt will turn into depression and loss of enthusiasm. Before long, what a person wants waits in the sidelines and is overrun by others ideas.

Our author brings us a image of a garden. Tending the garden with the cool breeze encircling. The sun helps with the growth as well as the soil. The insects take their turns doing their insect things. Spider webs catching flies.

You did well with the restrictions on the piece. With the word count and the fact words couldn't be repeated. That's not easy.

Our author reminds us how our society has changed. The values that once were so important were thrown out the window a long time ago.
There isn't any mutual respect for one another any longer.
The population is so large now; its hard to make a friend or trust another.
Do we have time any longer to stop and smell the roses? Instead big business makes sure those roses are replaced with concrete parking lots.

This is really pretty. Just think about a rainbow and two people looking across the valley.
A soft wind gently deepening their love.
Then the clouds carrying their dreams on the wind. Safely they rest there and whisper from time to time how much their love brightens the world.
Is there magic as they vow eternal love?

Here we find a lovely heartfelt piece about how a wife has impacted her husbands life.
He feels so strongly that she is the be all and end all.
The very essence of her brings him happiness and removes any doubt. She has completely captivated him. He feels as though he can fly.
She makes the day warm and the night sweet. He wouldn't give away a single minute that he could share with her.

Sometimes, when we love someone, it's hard to put into words how we feel.
I think this man has done exceptionally well.

After a breakup we find our character still very much in love. Thinking about the past and the time they spent together, is still very vivid.
Obsessed with these feelings, not a night goes by without crying alone.
The room is empty but memories still linger. All together making things so difficult.
The lover has changed and our character can't fight it and just has to deal with still feeling love without it being returned.

This piece is about a good man. I remember him well in his portrayal of a father in Little House. The way he connected with the girls. How he always knew the right lessons to teach them about being kind.
I bet his own children felt so blessed to have him in their lives.

I think it was his eyes that spoke to the audience. When his little girl was lost on that tall mountain; he found her and cried.
Good heartwarming TV.
A far sight from TV now.
I still watch that show when I can.

Here we have a hotel that tries to accommodate all its clients. A strange looking gentleman comes seeking a room. The owner tries to discourage him and even warns him.
The stranger feels this will be fine with him.
This one room is for those special clients.

The character was lonely in the sea of life and finally found someone to end the loneliness.
As time went by the lover began to pull back. Lack of trust was beginning to bring about uncertainty. The relationship was suffering.
Our character was willing to help get over the problems from the past but was met with hesitation from the lover.
Soon they drifted apart.
Our character still wants to try. Promising to be a listening friend as well as a lover.
Fearing the lover is now lost in the sea of life, what can be done?
Words aren't working. There is a wall to break down.
No one knows about tomorrow but if given the chance our character will help find the path back to what they had.
