My Search

I

Into the mystic realm,
I let my mind take flight,
Over stone strewn highways,
I search the endless night.

I was the Wanderer,
Looking for a goal,
And the Seeker,
Searching for my soul.

I walked the roads of idle fancy,
Paths of material delight,
Stumbling over stones of vain imaginings,
In my search for the light.

A voice deep within me cried:
"Here doesn't lay your goal,
Upon these darkened pathways,
You'll never find your sou."

II

Into the mystic realm,
Again my mind took flight,
Over well traveled highways,
I search the misty twilight.

I was a Seeer,
Seeking an unknown goal,
And a Stranger,
To my own soul.

In this realm of half-light,
I strolled the roads of tradition,
Picking my way carefully,
Through the shadows of superstition.

Still from within came the cry:
"Not in this realm is your goal,
Upon these half-lit pathways,
You'll never find your soul"

III

Into the mystic realm,
Again I took flight,
And walked the paths,
Where God has shed His light.

I walked the hallowed highways,
Trod by the Prophets of old,
Strolled the ancient paths,
Strewn with nuggets of pure gold.

This is the wondrous realm,
Where all paths become one,
This is the glorious land,
Illuminated by God's sun.

Through the Word of God,
I have found my soul,
In the Messenger for this age,
I have found my goal.

The Great Yes This is the choice that comes only once; This is the answer to love's questions; This is the difficult choice between opposites; This is the affirmation of spirituality; This is the soul's confirmation of faith; This is the demarcation between heaven and hell; This is the answer required to open the gates of paradise; This is the consummation of divine love; This is the double positive of immortality. {dropnote:"Poet's Note:"}I wrote this on 2 Ka... Inner Peace: A Baha'i Perspective
December 10, 2018 at 6:48pm
Inner Peace: A Baha'i Perspective Inner peace is achieved through trust in God; it is the result of experience, and the practice of certitude. Inner peace is the goal of the imprisoned soul; the reality of the obedient servant; the abode of the faithful. Inner peace is radiant acquiescence; the liberation of the spirit; the freedom of nirvana. Inner peace is the knowledge that God is in command; the after glow of prayer and meditation; the surrender to the Will of ... [Read more]
Centerpiece: A Metaphor
December 10, 2018 at 6:08pm
Centerpiece: A Metaphor The embodiment of blind faith, the centerpiece sets in the middle of a brown table. A pyramid of red carnations, white daisies, and green plastic fer-leaves. The white daisies are framed by the carnations, and the fern-leaves. Climbing upward, the carnations are framed by the fern-leaves. At the pyramid's peak the tallest carnation surveys its domain; a construction of God-made flowers and man-made leaves. {dropnote:"Poet's... [Read more]

Overcoming Insistent Self
February 5, 2019 at 7:06pm
Overcoming Insistent Self The ego self is a cruel master... unforgiving. I hold in my hands the legacy of the Beloved. I read the invocation under the title: "In the name of God, the One, the Incomparable, the All-Powerful, the All-knowing, the All-Wise." Who am I that I should doubt my own self-worth. Reality is not this physical creature, this animal brain, which holds within it the memory of use and abuse. My reality encompasses this physical body.... [Read more]
