Review of ABANDONED
Review by elephantsealer

Rated: E | (4.0)
"Abandoned" is an interesting tale of a "house"... At first, it was a great, beautiful building that "shined with sparkle"; that unfortunately turned into a broken, "cardboard box". However, the depth of sadness was transposed into a "girl" who "jumps out" of a car, and said, "Stop"...
And there comes the beginning of a new life for the broken-down house... An interesting tale, indeed...

I feel I must review this piece of writing: "Unexpected Company (1st Place)" because it made me feel that there is goodness among us, earth people!!! I would consider the story a "rescue tale" because a man, almost "lost hope of survival", was rescued. The fact that two men in a sheltered place gave "life" back to another... We need more of this kind of stories...

Review of Unmasked

Wow, "Unmasked", is a funny (I really think it is funny!!!!) tale of someone who has a good sense of humor. It is but a short tale; however, it does convey a sense of "comic" situation. It starts with the "fox", better known as the "Zorro", striking again; the need to be quiet in the presence of a beauty; goes along with the "undressing"; then a sharp waking up of the sleeping beauty; and goes on off to "riding off through the desert night" and admiring the "handful of clothes" to fit his size... Thanks for the laugh, writer....

Review of Excerpt

The "Excerpt" tells of a girl's first day in an "elegant" school, chosen for her because she is the "future Empress", who "needs to be educated". The girl is probably a bit anxious what is in store for her at the new school. So it is only fair to let her fuss about going; however, the girl admits to herself of "two overprotective people" in her life, who cares and love her... This little tale is the author's piece of work that she/he plans to write, "eventually" It is an interesting piece that creates a tale of how children try to manage their feelings when school starts...

The "Review of Hidden Lies" is interesting because it tells how a reader became interested in a story, that not only interested her/him but also enjoyed the "unique culture" of the country that the book describes. It brings to mind that reading a book should not only satisfy but should also give a sense of being a part of the story, for the emotions that are aroused in a reader...

Thank you, very thankful (441), for your "Writing Resources". Like you, I like to read books that are a great help to writers. And like you, I do prefer bookstores that give back to the community. I shall try and get the many books you suggested... Again, many thanks.

Yes, quite an adventure story, jackiesmuse (71), regarding your "The Adventures of Pinky and Porky". Your writing was done in a light tone, not joking of course but something light and interesting. There are many stories about children and the many wonderful things they get into, and yours has given me something to think about...really interesting, indeed...

Review of Why?
Review by elephantsealer

Rated: E | (3.5)
You seem to be writing something positive with your piece of work, "Why?", Black Panther. It is all right to ask questions, of course, whether or not you are able to write some piece of work that is interesting to readers. That is how writers start, did you know that? We write, and then we ask questions: are our writing tells a story or a just going round and round because we are stuck at one point that does not even say anything. However, your attitude, the questions you ask, and the manner in which you seem to want to write is really good enough. It takes time to know whether or not we are writers; we just carry on writing because that is all we know...

Review of The Basin

Reviewing the "Basin" caught my interest because it tells of how a "humble utensil" was fashioned by a "potter" into a "new and beautiful" utensil, a basin... and how the writer used a verse in the Bible to bring out the actual meaning of the poem: humility... Interesting, indeed...

"The Academy of Twisted Topiaries"is an interesting tale of Robert who was terribly interested in topiaries. Very much interested in topiaries, Robert unfortunately ended up one of them, a "sentinel" on the grounds of the school he got deeply interested to undertake... Is this magic or what?????

Hello, there, writer (4) for your little poem, "Deep thought". I would just like to point out a little "missing" letter on your third stanza: "You" (I believe) should be "Your", right? Otherwise, your poem did convey some kind of thought to me...

Review of Dog Gone Nights

Hi, WW is Monk!(1892), you wrote an interesting piece of work, "Dog Gone Nights", that made me laugh because I did enjoy your little tale... It was interesting indeed because when people talk (or rather write) about dogs and cats and non-human characters, there is always a feeling of either a little bit of hatred that actually turns into a fun thing that relates to both human and non-human characters... Do write more like this, and I am sure your writing will go far and wide....

What an interesting review, "A Rose by Any Other Name". If death comes as quickly as what became of the man in this tale, it is surely great. However, I wonder why such a man took it upon him to "kill"??? Here's to the writer; may you continue to write more interesting anecdotes....

Review of The Queen

I sort of wondered if the poem, "The Queen" is about the passing of Queen Elizabeth, the Queen of England? It is indeed a sad day for England as well as for people who have loved her as a mother, grandmother, friend or whatever... because I would like to join in my sympathies for the passing of a monarch who has given much of her life to her people... Thanks for the writer...

"Non-Humans R Us Welcome Letter" tells of a group of people who have decided to form a group with the intention of reading about and looking at pictures of non-humans as well discussion sessions that should not get to the point of anger. The intention is great and the rules are as well easy to follow; however, if any member is found to use the group as a "battleground", then the ultimate end is getting thrown out of the group. It is an interesting idea, of course, because there are many who are prone to anger and hate when their opinions become the reason for anger and hatred...

Review of Honor

I agree with the writer of "Honor": in order to really honor a soldier, a sailor, an airman or a guard or for that matter, anyone who takes up a "sacred pact" to care for others, is to "act by taking care of those who guard us." It is indeed a "sacred pact" for each and every one of us to do as we memorialize the many who died...To Sacred Moon, thanks for your words...

The story behind "The Non-existent Family" reveals a truth that members of a family refuse to admit... One sister's experience of a father who abused her sexually was a revelation that made each family realize the abuse they each experienced in the hands of a father... It is indeed a sad tale, revealing, most probably, that each member of the family may have suffered in the hands of a devil of a father... Interesting tale...

I would like to add my own praise of "King Charles The Third", who was recently declared the new King in England as his mother, Queen Elizabeth 11, passed away at the age of 96. May, King Charles The Third, follow and be guided by his mother's genuine love for all peoples in the world.

God bless the King!!!!

Review of Evie

"Evie" is an interesting tale of a cat: how she was first found in a parking garage with injuries; how the cat's founders cared for it; and finally how the kitten was finally found a home with children who love her.

In fact, I would say this cat story confirms to us the love and care two humans gave to an animal. This reminds me how quite a number of people in my neighborhood who have pets, care for them, and feed them as part of their daily lives. This story indeed tells us that humans and animals do exist for each other...

"A Caregiver Needs Help" is a sad tale of someone's loved one suffering from the dreaded disease, 'Alzheimer'. If only there is a way to stop Alzheimer from attacking the brain of a human, I would definitely recommend it, especially to people whose loved ones have succumbed to the disease. It is such a heart-breaking feeling to see/experience one's loved one in such a situation, that sometimes we wonder why there is such a disease...Our world has found many ways to rid us of some dieseases; and yet, Alzheimer continues to rip the minds of elderly people...

Take heart, author, because maybe one day a super-duper minded individual will stand among us and hail Alzheimer is completely GONE, CURED WITH SOMETHING LIKE AN ORANGE... Do you believe that day will come?????

Review of Glass Butterflys

As I reviewed "Glass Butterflys", I realized that the "Prologue" is probably the beginning of a larger story that the writer plans to extend. It is a good beginning, interesting, and a tale that may be extended into a novel, maybe????? My only question is: should "Butterflys" be spelled "Butterflies"???

The author of "Juniper Tree 1" brings to the reviewer a sense of "infinite peace"; a "satisfying sense of completeness and delight", even in the midst of terror... I find this piece of work a joy to read; a work of art that shows feelings and emotions that one can possess...

To the writer, let us see/read/review more of your work...

Review of Blank
Review by elephantsealer
In affiliation with SENIOR CENTER GROUP
Rated: E | (3.5)
"Blank" by Ghostie reminded me so much when lots and lots and lots of ideas and thoughts ran endlessly through my brain; ignored them; or rather told myself I shall write them "tomorrow". However, my "tomorrow" never came.

As writers, we tend to tell ourselves to remember what those ideas and thoughts are without writing them down. Then when tomorrow does come, we realize there is such a thing called "flashes of thoughts and ideas" that tend to leave us completely "blank" as well as the realization of how fickle our memory has become...

To the author, your story may remind other writers of their "tomorrows"...
