Wow, this is so powerfully moving and thought provoking. Your words paint such a vivid picture of this soldier dying in vain for a worthless cause. The saddest part being that it is known by everyone but still they remain silent.
You have to wonder how many more will die in darkness because of their silence. The picture of the young woman/wife remaining behind is so poignant it brings a lump to my throat.
This is one of those poems that I feel conflicted for liking. I feel awful for the tragic message but I am awed by the talent with which it is conveyed. Bravo.

I absolutely love this poem. I think that as we grow up and attempt to be responsible adults we tend to forget the simple joys we use to love as a child. I remember one of my greatest pleasure as a kid was playing in the rain and today at the age of 46 I avoid it like the plague. Why is that?
I think it is because we are taught we should. Grown ups don't play in the rain. It's silly and frivolous. I say it's good for the soul. Thank you for sharing this wonderful poem with me and reminding me how much fun the rain can be. Bravo!

Wow, I have to say not one of my favorites. This is a very dark and disturbing poem. The disdain and contempt just oozes out of every line. This is just a bitter bitter poem. I do see the irony you speak of but I would say this is not every child and every instance.
I miss the hope. This poem shows nothing but the bad and I just feel vile after reading it. It is powerful but at least to me it has a very negative effect on my mood. It is well written and insightful but not my thing. Sorry.

This is another very profound and powerful poem that questions our very essence. I like it but I find I can't agree with it. There is a difference between true happiness and contentment. Animals in my opinion are not happy they are incapable of feeling emotions in such a manner. They maybe content with their existence but that is not the same thing.
An animal will never know the joy of free will and doing right and good for goodness sake. They will never know the happiness of loving and being loved because they are incapable of such depth of emotion. This is just my opinion of course and I am still blown away by the importance of this poem. Bravo.

This is a lovely biblical poem. It paints a lovely picture of the accounting of Adam and Eve in the garden. I also like the message you send in the rest of the poem. The way we live our lives truly is a choice. We can live a good life abiding by the laws of god and man, or we can live a bad life disregarding all laws and thinking only or ourselves. Okay so I know I say this a lot but it is really true. This is one of my favorites. This is a truly beautiful poem Itchy, I love it so much.It says so much about people. We really do forget to look up not just literally like in this sense but in all ways. We either take for granted or miss out on the simple beauty of so many things and never appreciate how wonderful life can be if you only let it.

Wow, this is a great story too. I love the themes and topics you pick for your stories. You certainly have a flair for the dramatic. I don't think I have ever said that to a writer before hehe. It is true though. You have a wonderful talent for selecting and telling beautiful dramas.
I loved this story very much. The main character is very endearing and sweet. They story itself is very compelling. It unfolds nicely. Oh and I absolutely LOVE the news segment of the story. That was so well done and convincing. The journalist's dialog was so realistic it made me wonder if you actually work for the news.

This is a great fifty-five word story if you ask me. It is a very complete and compelling story. I love that the wife figured it out in a dream. I have always thought that when a husband cheats the wife usually always knows. It's just a question of whether or not she admits it.
