While I was here I thought I would see what you have interesting to read. My eye caught this very surprising piece, "What Love". Oh my your words captivated me and surprised me at the very end I had to read the last line twice. Then bust out laughing because I can relate to this five times over. It is amazing how those grandkids can wrap us around their little finger. I enjoyed it very much and thank you for sharing it with us all.

Your title really caught my attention. "My Love For You"

Rhythm & Flow:

There is no rhythm to this poem. No concerns that take away from the flow of your words.

Imagery & Emotions:

I'm picturing a young love growing. Now that's at any age...lol. This reader believes that every reader can relate to this piece. I surely do and find it a wonderful written piece.

Conclusion:

My favorite line is:

Saying goodbye is not something that I ever want to say to you.

I did find a few errors and believe that if corrected it would make it a stronger statement of love. I've included them in this review. I will be willing to change my rating to a 5. Please let me know when you have a chance to do them.

#1: Everyone says when (that) find that special someone. (That) needs to be changed to (you).

#2: I'll never love (you) this much again. Take out you so it makes a strong statement to anyone who reads it.

#3: You indented these 2 sentences:

In my prayers and dreams.
Like it never existed.

I would just take the indentation out. If there is no certain reason why. Maybe a typo, I've had that happen to me before. I hope that the suggestions help, but I am no expert, just an avid reader.

Your title really caught my attention, as when anything about our son's and daughter's of the military is written.


Rhythm & Flow:

There is no rhythm to this poem. The flow of your words make this an ease read.


Imagery & Emotions:


I have to tell you that I am a military mom and what you wrote hits deeply. The men and women in our military, our Hero's to their families. We all know what the price is for what they do for their family and country. As I read your words I imagine our son's and daughter's deployed to nation's where there is known danger. It takes everything for you to show no emotion when they leave. For they are the brave one's who need to know that we're ok. I apologise for the length but, I did say I was a military mom.

As I read your words I imagine a boat on the raging sea. Life has it's raging waves often in life. Words of wisdom you speak of calming the depth of the sea. I'm sure that other's can relate to this so much.

Awwww "Christmas Eve Memories" what a sweet title.

Great imagery and emotion. This take me back to those memories of my son's giving me their homemade gift's. Without a doubt the most rewarding gift's of parenthood.

I love the title "Valentine Flight"


Flow:

The flow of this piece glides along telling the story of a girl and her fondness for flying and riding her horse.


Imagery & Emotions:

Great imagery and emotion. I was easily moved by her love for her horse and and the gift of flying while she is riding Valentine.

Conclusion:

My favorite line, great description is the following statement.
Flying, as we canter, floating a few feet above the ground, smoothly rocking forward and back: that brings the most toe-curling sigh from my entire being! It is the completeness, wholeness that I imagine heaven to be.

It is the most amazing feeling in the whole world. You took me back to something I miss dearly. My daily rides and dreams of flight. I love both.

Thank you for sharing with me. I enjoyed reading "Valentine Flight"and the memories of the stable and the aromatherapy...lol
I do so miss it immensely.

The title really caught my attention. "Winter Blossom" I can remember growing up and seeing the very first blossom, near the end of winter. Promise's of spring and new growth.




Rhythm & Flow:{c}
Free Verse in Tetrameter. Winter Blossom has a wonderful flow and quite easy to follow. The words speak to you.
I'm still new at all the different styles of poetry. I love Free Verse because it is more natural to me.




Imagery & Emotions:{c}

Great imagery and emotion, You've capture's this readers imagination to the details you've written. I feel as if I can see that it's peek of brilliant yellow of Daffodils.


Conclusion:{c}

My favorite line, great description - I find strength in blossoming hope as my heart waits for Spring's warm touch.

Thank you for sharing. I enjoyed reading a "Winter Blossom". Now I can't wait for spring and the renewal of life.

While in your portfolio I came across an interesting short story "Meeting in a Cemetery". I choose this one because unfortunately as of lately I have been visiting the cemetery alot this past year. But, to my surprise I truly believe that this was intended me to read. Unfortunately, in my case this very same scenario is in my family. Although different in some ways. I found "Meeting in a Cemetery" very enlightening and encouraging. Because it tells the reader that there is always hope. A time that things will be corrected, where any wrong doing will come out. You had me captivated with your characters and the story was very interesting to say the least. I have to ask is there another part? I'm going to assume that he died no less. I felt like I was in a dream of sorts and woke up near the end. Never knowing what happened. But in a different way I'm leaving it to my imagination that Stephen was having the nightmare and when abruptly awoke. He found his wife and daughters asleep in their own beds. The suspense was there, I found no corrections or grammar errors. Excellent story plot. I thank you for sharing your story with us. I hope to see you more on WDC.

I too have experienced the same exact thing. Except mine kept running me into trees to knock me off. She succeed twice and then ran back to the barn leaving me to walk back...lol. I love how you took us into the scene to imagine how this all came about. I found no errors and found your story delightful and kept my interest. I have learned through the years that horses are stubborn, but they need a strong hand sometimes. Thank you for sharing your story with us.

Just dropping by to wish you a 🎆🎉🎊 Happy 😱 Anniversary 🎊🎉🎆 here at WDC. While in your portfolio a piece caught my eye "The Box in the Corner". As I opened the box to see what was inside as Patty did. I too have a box just as she does! You drew me into this delightful, heartwarming story of a woman who took a trip down memory lane. One we all often do. With a touch, smell or sight we all do this.
But then you added a twist to it. Just as if she was to finish the quilt that she'd been working on, she passes. Then we find out that it wasn't even her box. This was well written and I found no Grammer errors to speak of. A very strong story of how our minds can take us beyond our imagination. It gave Patty peace in her heart. Thank you for sharing with us.

Dear Dave,
Just dropping in to give you a early Christmas review. I'm a fan of history and being from the South. I really enjoyed reading "Letter from a Ghost". I find it very enlightening and informative. I find myself wondering what things these young men went through during the Civil War. Things that were honorable and nobody ever knew what they had done. Their families never having closure. But a letter from one of their own to guide those who have that great responsibility to make sure that they get the burial they deserve. I'm from a military family and it means alot to have it done properly. It took me 2 1/2 weeks to prove that my baby brother deserved his military funeral. This was well written, researched and the additional site's to visit is perfect. Thank you for sharing your words with us.

Lol, I have to hand it to you. The aspect of how a Christmas tree would feel. The thought of it makes me glad that I have a artificial tree. But in all reality it does make since. We kill so many trees a year just to decorate it for a few weeks. It actually is very sad if you think about it from a trees point of view. Thank you for sharing this with us.
