What do you believe is your purpose in life?

Attaining the presence of God is and isn't difficult. I know that sounds contradictory and confusing, but I'm not sure how else to state this concept. For several years I didn't know what my purpose was and therefore I had no focus and no anchor. When I encountered the Baha'i Faith and accepted Bahá’u’lláh I found out that the purpose of the individual human being is to know and attain the presence of the Creator. The next step was to figure out how to know an unknowable essence, I learn to know God through Bahá’u’lláh, who reflects the attributes of God. I learn to know God through reading and meditating on the writing's revealed by Bahá’u’lláh.

How does an individual attain the presence of God? I have no answer to this question. The only way I know how to do it is pray, meditate, attempt to obey the laws revealed by Bahá’u’lláh, treat other human beings the way I want them to treat me, and practice forgiveness. I still feel the distance between myself and God is farther then the distance between the center of the Milk Way galaxy and the edge of the known universe. The only thing I know to do is to bring myself to account each day and figure out how I can make each tomorrow better then yesterday.

Look at the sunset
as one day ends another begins
continues progress.

Food for Thought: "The purpose of God in creating man hath been, and will ever be, to enable him to know his Creator and to attain His Presence. To this most excellent aim, this supreme objective, all the heavenly Books and the divinely-revealed and weighty Scriptures unequivocally bear witness...." - Bahá’u’lláh, Gleanings From the Writings of Bahá’u’lláh, Pages 70

Make a list of 7 signs it's time to take a bath.

*Waterdrop* You're out walking and a neighbor's dog markers your leg as part of his territory.
*Waterdrop* You receive an anonymous note from one of your housemates complaining about the litter box in your room, but you don't have a cat.
*Waterdrop* You're walking your dog in the rain when you realize you're the one who smells like a wet dog.
*Waterdrop* Your cat would rather sleep in her litter box then on your lap.
*Waterdrop* Your significant other or spouse runs a hot tub and then locks you in the bathroom until you take a bath.
*Waterdrop* A concerned citizen reports you to HAZMAT as hazardous material.
*Waterdrop* You set your smoke alarm off simply by walking into the room.

What intuition can do for you?

I believe that intuition is an attribute of the soul. I have found that it will guide me through the rough areas of life, through tests and difficulties, but I have to follow it no matter how illogical its suggestions appear. I have found that I must be able to "feel" to "hear" the voice of intuition and the only way I can do that is through daily prayer and meditation. Sometimes the guidance of intuition comes through a dream, sometimes through a feeling, and sometimes through a thought. Sometimes intuition is an urgent feeling and sometimes a slight push, but it will always guide me through the best path for the development of my soul and the strengthening of my faith.

I believe intuition is developed through prayer, meditation, and following the feeling. An example of my following my intuition occurred this afternoon. I have a grief counseling meeting every first and third Wednesday of the month. I was not going to go to the meeting tonight, but my intuition suggested that I should go. It was a good thing that I went because tonight the group received "homework" to assist in handling our grief. The homework tonight is for each member of the group to write his or her own recipe for Tear Soup. If I had not gone to the meeting tonight I would not have received this intriguing piece of creativity. I also would not have heard the story about Tear Soup; the counselor who leads the meeting read the story to us.

I now have a way to deal with my grief about my mother's death. I can also use this method to write about my Grandparents and my father, all of whose deaths I suspect I am still grieving. I am looking forward to creating my recipe or perhaps I should say recipes for Tear Soup. I now have a creative tool to handle my grief and this is a tool I would not have if I had not followed my intuition and gone to the meeting.

Intuition
is the voice of my soul
whispering,
shouting,
and pushing me
to become my true self.

Food for Thought: "Intuition is a spiritual faculty and does not explain, but simply points the way." - Florence Scovel Shinn

You wake up tomorrow morning to find all your plans have been cancelled for the next seven days and $10,000 on your dresser. Tell us about your week.

Sunday

How many bills can I pay
and still have enough money left to play?

Monday

A new wardrobe is what I need
nothing fancy or too extreme!

So I will shop at Sears,
Montgomery Wards',
TJMax,
and Dress for Less.

Tuesday

I haven't eaten out in a long time,
so I will go to a Mexican restaurant.

Do I want to eat at Macayo Vegas,
Los Jarochos Restaurant,
Mariscos El Mariachi,
or Chapala's Mexican Restaurants?

If I spread my Mexican meals
over the next four day
I can eat at them all.

Wednesday

I spend the day looking for a new apartment
preferably out of my price range
then go back to my sensible self
and put a down payment
on an affordable place.

Thursday

Movie day or moving day
either way
I am out of the house;
sensible self
says moving day.

Friday

Movie day
all day at the cinema
my sensible self
needs a little rest
and my muse
needs to relax.

Saturday

A day of rest
or a day spent at the mall;
the mall of course
at least until I stop having fun
and the crowd become irritating.

If you ran away and joined the circus, what would your role be? Would you run a concession? Would you train elephants?
Be a clown? Ringmaster? What and why?

I'd be a sharpshooter using a version of the Sharps Rifle,1 which was in service between of 1850 to 1881. The reason I would want to use a Sharps Rifle concerns the American myth of the origin of the word sharpshooter. According to on version of this myth the word sharpshooter comes from Sharps' shooters referring to buffalo hunters using the Sharps Rifle, while another version of the myth concerns the Sharps rifle and the Civil War.2 The term sharpshooter actually come from the German word Scharfschütz referring to an expert marksman.3

What are your thoughts about gun control?
if you don't want to talk about gun control, then I have an alternate prompt:
What's the worst present you've ever received, and what did you end up doing with it?

I'm not completely convinced that gun control is possible; however, I do think that a background check should be required on every gun sale. The reason I believe that gun control may be impossible is the human factor. When one is dealing with a human being you are encountering several unknown variable such a emotion, state of mind, etc. Just because a person passes a background check doesn't mean that individual isn't going to snap in a moment of anger. In addition, there is always the possibility of that the person buying the gun is buying it for someone else, so the only background check that is done is on the person buying the gun.

Life is dangerous
it isn't so much survival of the fittest
as survival of the luckiest.

Life is dangerous

Do you think the weird weather we have been experiencing is an indication of global warming or something else?

There is an old saying that goes something like this "Everybody talks about the weather, but nobody does anything about it." At least, no one intentionally does anything about the weather; however, life affects its environment and, since part of a planets environment is the weather, life can unintentionally have either adverse or positive way. Is the ode weather an indication of global warming, which has an affect on climate change, or is it just a part of the natural long term weather pattern of Earth. I suspect that part of the problem is global warming, but I'm not sure it can be blamed for all the weird weather that occurring.

Whether or not global warming can be blamed for all the weird weather isn't important. The important thing is global warming is a climate change element humans can do something about. According to Global Warming Solutions4 there are five steps that we can take to solve or at least alleviate the problem:

*Earth* Pollution limits5
*Earth* Clean energy and green jobs6
*Earth* Drive cars that use less or no fossil fuels7
*Earth* Make our homes energy efficient8
*Earth* Use smart growth technique to construct more efficient communities and transportation systems9

Take action
over that which we have control
and leave the rest up to God.

Food for Thought: "Dealing with global warming doesn't mean we have all got to suddenly stop breathing. Dealing with global warming means that we have to stop waste, and if you travel for no reason whatsoever, that is a waste." - David Attenborough

The most disappointed I've ever been . . .

I don't think I've yet experienced the most disappointment I could ever experience in my life. I have enough faith in myself and the rest of humanity to know that I can still experience greater events of disappointment. The reason I know this is because disappointment is a part of life. That being written I suppose I should respond to the prompt.

The most disappointed I've ever been is in myself for not rising to the feats of accomplishment I'm capable of achieving. There is no other human being on the planet that can cause greater disappoint to a individual then her or himself. Like the rest of humanity, I'm capable of accomplishing much more then I accomplish; therefore, I'm still capable of not only achieving more then I have up to this point, but disappointing myself to a greater degree.

There are two ways to handle disappointment, the first is to give up, curl up in the fetal position and die. The second, is to take a deep breath, pour yourself another cup of coffee and figure out a different approach to the event or action that caused disappointment. Sometime disappointment indicates a change indirection, which is not giving up. Accomplishing a goal or any thing else in life isn't easy and oftentimes a person is faced with more the one episode of disappointment. Whit is required the individual to bring him or herself to account and decide on the reason the disappointment occurred.

Life is a bowl of cherries
and disappointment the pits,
but you can't grow cherry trees
without the pits.

Life is a garden of roses
and disappointment the thorns,
but you can't pick beauty
without drawing blood.

"What motivates me to write blog entries?"

"What motivates me to write blog entries?" It isn't motivation for blog entries that is giving me problems lately, but motivation to accomplish other things. Now that I have written that I'll probably have motivational problems with blog entries because I have put the idea in my head. Here is an earlier entry about motivation I composed in this blog "Motivation going beyond my limitations. Following is a list of things that motivate me to write blog entries.

*Door* A car parks in font of my house, a person gets out, walks up to my door, and rings the doorbell
*Doorb* A nightingale or other bird singing in the neihbor's oak tree
*Doorbl* The neighbor's cat laying in my backyard for an afternoon catnap
*Doorbr* The wind blowing through the olive tree across the street
*Doorgr* National Poetry Month
*Dooro* The weird and mundane events occurring in my daily life
*Doorr* Drivers in Las Vegas
*Doorw* The Baha'i Sacred Writings
*Doory* Encounters with other human beings

Speaking of weird things happening in my life. I left my new and old cell phones on the coffee table yesterday while I was working online. I thought I heard the phone ring around 7:30 pm, but I didn't get up to answer it because I was busy. I didn't think anymore about it until I decided to go to bed. I went to the couch, which is where I sleep. I laid down and then heard my phone beep indicating I had missed a phone call. I looked at the number and the name said Kendra, so I thought it was my niece. This morning I called her and ask her why she called she didn't call, but said she probably butt dialed. I ask her if her Dad give her my new phone number and she said no. I replied that she now had the phone number. If she didn't butt dial my new phone number from her phone, who did?

Ever since November 29, 2012 (the day my mother died) weird things have happened in my life. Sometimes I wonder what's going on, is my mother trying to tell me something? Is my mother sending me messages of encouragement? Am I on the verge of going stark raving mad? Interesting and thought provoking questions, which I'm not ready to answer just yet; however, whether I'm ready to answer those question I figure if I keep blogging then I'll find the answers to them.

Be creative! Fill in the blanks and tell us why: "If my (blank) were a (blank), then I'd be (blank)."

Sometimes
I get the feeling
that I am filling in the blanks.

Sometimes
I get the feeling
that I am attempting
to find missing characters,
missing words,
missing sentences,
without
knowing the subject
the theme,
or the genre
of the novel that is my life.

It is Saturday, April 13, 2013; at least I'm fairly sure it's Saturday. I also get the feeling that I'm missing a day and today (Saturday) should be either Sunday or Monday. I don't know why I get this feeling, but I've had this feeling for about a week. I get the feeling that the day I'm experiencing should be something else. This began on Monday, which seemed like Tuesday. Tuesday seemed like Wednesday, Wednesday seemed like Thursday, Thursday seemed like Friday, etc. I've experienced this feeling before, but it normally doesn't last more then a day.

I'm not sure what's wrong, perhaps the problem is lack of sleep or meat. On the other hand I could have walked into a time warp and am waiting to exit again. I could be going through a filling in the blanks episode in my life and I'm missing some data that would explain this feeling. It could also be that, for the last week, I've had difficulty take my thyroid medication at the same time every day. I've taken care of that by putting my thyroid medication in a seven-day pillbox and placed the pillbox with a glass of water close to where I sleep. This way I can take the medication when my alarm goes off and I don't have to worry about going into the kitchen to find the medication or the water.

Does a messy home (or office) make you anxious and cranky, or is cleaning something you just do before company comes over?

This prompt hits really close to home (no pun intended). I am in the process of cleaning my house so that I can find a smaller place. I am having difficulty cleaning it and apparently have had difficulty for some time. The reason I say this it that this morning I found the remains of the old thermostat in a box sitting on the lower shelf of a bookcase. The old thermostat was replaced before or around 2007. I am not precisely sure when it was replaced, but the box has been sitting on the bookcase for several year.

I put the box containing the old thermostat in the trash bag I carried out this morning. I know that is not how I am supposed to dispose of that stuff, especially since I am attempting to go green, but that is what I did. I suspect before I am finished with this horrid housecleaning project I will do a lot of things that do not encourage green living; however, at this point I do not care. The only thing I want is to give away, store, and throw away so that I can move to a smaller place.

I am so stressed with this entire housecleaning thing, that this morning I decided I am a hoarder or at least have a tendency toward hoarding. Which may make sense since, as the daughter of an alcoholic, I have an addictive personality and obsessive-compulsive issues. Knowing this does not lessen the stress I am encountering attempting to clean house. I am having some success, as proven by the fact that I did not take the old thermostat to the garage and put it on a shelf. I suppose I should focus on the success rather then how much I have to do. I think part of my problem is that I am trying to eat the entire T-Rex in one setting rather then a little bit at a time.

I wish I had started this cleaning thing while Mom was still alive and in her right mind. Then I could have ask her what she thought about this and that, but I did not and there is no use shoulding on myself. Everything a person encounters in life is supposed to prepare her for the next world, teach her about herself, and help her grow and evolve as a human being. Housecleaning does that, purging does that; at present, I am going through a purging episode getting everything out of my life that I do not need for the next stage of my spiritual evolution. It is stressful and I do not like it, but the process is necessary. It is teaching me to let go and letting go is something everyone has to learn because at death the soul has to let go of the body.

I am cleaning house
I am evolving, purging;
A new creation.

Thought of the Day: "I'm going through an evolution. I'm completely cleaning out my closet. I'm purging, because I saw that show 'Hoarders.' I had a sweatshirt from sixth grade, and I'm going, 'Why do I hold on to this?" - Fergie

Certain senses can often provoke a memory. A smell, a sound, an image, etc.
Write about a favorite memory that is conjured up by a smell, a song, or any other sense.

The breeze of memory
wafts across my mind
bringing back the aromas
of my childhood.

The smell
of fresh brewed coffee
or the scent
of Prince Albert Smoking Tobacco...
it is late Sunday afternoon
Grandpa
is sitting at the kitchen table
sipping a cup of Folgers coffee
and rolling his cigarettes
for work the next day.

The breeze of memory
wafts across my mind
bringing back the perfumes
of my childhood.

The aroma
of rich dark chocolate
or the bouquet
of hot pumpkin and spices...
it is a cold December afternoon
Grandma
is taking a pumpkin pie
out of the oven
and I am sitting at the kitchen table
sipping a cup of hot coco.

On this day in 1968, President Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act. This act protected the rights of people, including African-Americans and women.
How far do you think we have come in the past 45 years? Have we done enough? What do you think still needs to be done?

We have came a long way, but we still have a long way to go. The Civil Rights Act had an affect on the laws of this nation and not on the hearts or minds of individual human beings. There are still people in this this country and across the world that see the differences of skin color, nationality, religion, native language, etc. as important distinctions. There are still people in the world that focus on the differences between the components of the human species and make these important indicators of the superiority of one group of human being over another.

Humanity is a single species, which is proven by the fact that the people of different skin tones, nationality, religious affiliation, etc. can mate successfully with each other and produce viable offspring. There are other proofs of the oneness of humanity in both scientific and religious circles (creation stories and myths). Until the oneness of humanity is accepted on the level of the individual there will always be people who attempt to discriminate against those they consider inferior to themselves.

A single species
scattered across the planet,
the physical differences
accidents of climate
and isolation.

A single species
coming together in unity
as a new age dawns.

Food for Thought: "...Bahá’u’lláh taught the Oneness of humanity; that is to say, all the children of men are under the mercy of the Great God. They are the sons of one God; they are trained by God. He has placed the crown of humanity on the head of every one of the servants of God. Therefore all nations and peoples must consider themselves brethren. They are all descendants from Adam. They are the branches, leaves, flowers and fruits of One Tree. They are pearls from one shell. But the children of men are in need of education and civilization, and they require to be polished, till they become bright and shining." - ‘Abdu’l-Bahá, ‘Abdu’l-Bahá in London, page 28: Discourse of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá given at the Theosophical Head Quarters. What's your take on tattoos? If you have one, is there some symbolism hidden there?

Tattooing is an ancient art form that can trace its origins back to the Neolithic age.10 The word tattoo believed derived from "ta", a Polynesian word meaning "striking something", and "tatau", a Tahitian word meaning "to mark something".11 In some cultures it was connected with criminals, while in other cultures it is associated spiritual, tribal, or magical beliefs.12 All though gangs still mark their members with tattoos, tattoos are becoming more popular among different social and age groups.13
What do I think of tattoos? I think some of them are beautiful and creative pieces of art, while others are curd and/or offensive. The quality of the tattoo depends upon the artist, whether or not the tattoo is offensive depends upon what the customer wants and where the tattoo is placed. At one time, I worked in a laundromat and one day a man came in without a shirt on (it was summer and this is Las Vegas), he had a well done tattoo cover his entire back. The problem with the tattoo was that it was a hand giving "the finger" to anyone looking at his back.

Do I have a tattoo? No, but I am not opposed to getting one. The main reason I do not have a tattoo is that for several years I suffered from trypanophobia ("fear of needles") also known as aichmophobia, belonephobia, or enetophobia (all of which refer to "fear of sharply pointed objects").14 However, like my arachnephobia/arachnophobia, I eventually overcame it; at least, I think I overcame it because I can get a flue shot without fainting or running out of the room screaming. If I did get a tattoo it would not be on my breast because eventually gravity sits in and distorts body decorations in that area, but this is just a personal opinion.

Beauty,
like a colorful tattoo,
is skin deep
and in the eye of the beholder.

Thought of the Day: "A tattoo is a true poetic creation, and is always more than meets the eye. As a tattoo is grounded on living skin, so its essence emotes a poignancy unique to the mortal human condition." ~V. Vale and Andrea Juno, Modern Primitives

After a long night out, you return to your house to find that every picture and painting in your house can speak to you.
What do the characters in the artwork and photographs say?
Write a conversation between you and one of them, or a conversation between two of them.

I walked into the house on Monday night sometime after 9:00 or 10:00 PM. I don't know exactly what time it was because I didn't go into the living room or look at my cell phone to check the time. Normally, I know precisely what time I get home, but when I walked into the house on Monday night I heard voices reverberating through the house. Since I live alone, I was a bit frightened; however, I'm not the type of person to call 911 out of fear. Living in Las Vegas, I know that Metro Officers have more important things to deal with then the voices in my house.

I went into the dining room and turned on the light. As soon as the light came on the voices stopped. I looked around, but the room was empty. I started to turn the light off, when the photo of 'Abdu'l-Baha spoke to me. "Pull up a chair, Snow, we have a lot to discuss."

"Yes, uh..."

"Please, call me 'Abdu'l-Baha."

"All right," I pulled dining room chair close to the photo so that I could look directly at it. "What do we have to discuss?"

"Your tendency to procrastinate and waste time, but first I have a question to ask you." After a short pause, 'Abdu'l-Baha continued. "Did you enjoy the Feast of Glory tonight?"

"Yes."

"Good, then I presume you will attend the fund raiser at the Baha'i Center this week end."

"I hadn't planned to, 'Abdu'l-Baha."

"Go you will enjoy yourself and don't worry about finances or anything like that."

"All right."

"Snow," he paused again. "You need to stop procrastinating and wasting time. First, beginning on Tuesday I want you to stop playing mahjong, pyramid, or spider for the next nineteen day. If you find yourself at loose ends or between projects either say prayers, read a book, or clean a room."

"All right, 'Abdu'l-Baha," I smiled because he knew my weakness. "Will there be anything else?"

"Yes, stop worrying about money or anything else. You put your financial situation in God's hands, so you do not need to worry. Worrying about something you have placed in divine hands is attempting to take the situation back."

"I always suspected as much."

"It is late and you should get some sleep because you have a lot of work to do on Tuesday." At this point I think the picture smiled at me, "Snow, you can get a lot accomplished between now and the end of the month, so go to bed and get some sleep. Just remember what day you are living in."

What is the most annoying sound you have ever heard?

Some people say
the most annoying sounds
is the singing of birds,
the barking of a dog,
or the moan of a cat in season,
but for me
the most annoying sounds I have ever heard
are the echoes of small arms fire
ricocheting
through Las Vegas streets
at odd hours
during the day or the night.

All right, perhaps I have lived in the big city too long and should move back to a small town. I like the big city because I can go to a grocery store or a restaurant in the middle of the night and know I am not the only insomniac in town. Despite the fact that I find gunshots annoying and have learned to dive for cover and hug the floor when they are nearby, I am not moving back to a small town willingly. Besides, in this day and age, I am not sure that small towns are any safer then big cities when it come to crime and gunshots.

I suspect crime is down in Las Vegas because I have not heard gunshots yet this year. Of course, it is not the Fourth of July. That is when you hear a lot of gunshots. People seem to think that it is all right to shot at the sky to celebrate Independence Day, which is why we do not have to worry about an extraterrestrial invasion on July 4. Too many people are discharging bullets into the air for the safety of any flying object. I am not even going to discuss the affect of gravity on the bullets falling back to earth.

Thought of the Day: "All parents believe their children can do the impossible. They thought it the minute we were born, and no matter how hard we've tried to prove them wrong, they all think it about us now. And the really annoying thing is, they're probably right." - Cathy Guisewite

You've been given the opportunity to have dinner with anyone-I mean ANYONE (alive or dead)--Who do you eat with?
Where do you eat at? How does dinner go? What kinds of questions do you ask? If your imagination allows, please write the dinner transcript.

I would have dinner with my father. I was young when my parents divorced, so my memories of my father are sketchy at best. I didn't know he was dead until I read his obit online (that was a shocker). I never had a chance to say "I love you, Daddy." I would have liked to say that to him before he died or at least attended his funeral.

I would fix Spanish rice using my own recipe. We would have green salad, coffee, and chocolate cake for desert unless my father wanted some other type of desert. I would tell him how much I loved him. I would tell him about my life and dreams. Dad and I would catch up on the events that happened in our lives. I would tell him that the only thing that matter was our dinner together. Then last I would ask him to introduce me to my half-sister.

Daddy,
I miss you,
I love you,
I forgive you;
Please forgive me
for not finding you before
you died.

Tell us if you have any secret ways of finding time for yourself.

The secret of person time
isn't in doing laundry or dishes,
isn't cleaning the house or the garage;
even though these are fun activities
they don't give me a chance
to talk to my soul,
discuss a poem with my muse,
or praise God.

How do I find time for myself? I don't think it's a matter of finding time as much as taking time. Self-knowledge requires a me to be silent and listen to the voice of my soul, so that I can learn about my fears and why those fears exist. This requires silence, writing in a journal, prayer, and meditation. Therefore, rather then finding time to do these thing, take time in the morning or in the evening; find some place to be along with your thought. I suspect the most righting thing for any human being is to be alone, in silence with his or her own thoughts as company because without this self-knowledge is impossible or at least difficult.

I take time for myself
so that I can listen
to my inner voice.

Thought of the day: “To know a species, look at its fears. To know yourself, look at your fears. Fear in itself is not important, but fear stands there and points you in the direction of things that are important. Don't be afraid of your fears, they're not there to scare you; they're there to let you know that something is worth it.” ― C. JoyBell C.

What is your favorite and/or least favorite day of the week?

Monday is a day that most people decry,
but sometimes I like Mondays
because it is so sly
and sneaks upon me
with a wonderful surprise.

This week I like Monday because it rained this morning. I live is Las Vegas, which is in a desert so rain is something that most of us look forward to experiencing. Spring rain is especially nice because it has a slight wintry chill, but still warm enough not to freeze me to the bone. It rained enough today to wash my car and leave a puddle in my driveway.

This week I like Monday because the bird that flew into my covered patio on Sunday was still alive. I saw the bird, I think it was a nightingale, fly onto the patio through the open door and did not think anything of it because I figure he would fly out the same way he came in. The bird was still on the patio this morning so I had to go out and herd him toward the still open door. It took me a couple of tries, but eventually he flew out the door. This experience did teach me one thing, just because a creature enters through an open door does not mean it knows to leave the same way.

Sometimes I like Monday
and sometimes
I would like to start my week
on Tuesday
because Monday seems
like a waste of energy.

Food for Thought: “What about Monday? That could be our one day we look at things the same way, and wear funny shoes.” ― Kevin Dalton

If you could choose one superpower to have for a day, what would it be?

The advantage to having a superpower for a day is that it would not have time to go to my heard. If I could only use it for twenty-four hours, I could only use it to accomplish something good in the world. At least, is hour it would be in theory, but since theory and practice are two entirely different things I probably would not have time to screw things up beyond repair.

When I was young,
I wanted the ability to leap tall buildings in a single bound,
but at sixty-six
I want to be able to walk around the block
without the osteoarthritis in my knees
causing pain.

The superpower I want is the ability to control pain without medication. I would like this ability for more then just a twenty-four hour period, but I will take what I can get and not bitch. I know it is probably selfish to want to control the osteoarthritis pain in my knees without the use of medication, but that is what I would chose. Just twenty-four hours without pain, without have to decide if the pain is excruciating enough to warrant taking medication that may affect my organs as I age or is addictive if I take too much of it.

Thought of the Day: "I urge people with osteoarthritis to follow a comprehensive plan for managing their arthritis pain. Developing and maintaining a healthy lifestyle is key to the successful management of osteoarthritis--eat right, exercise regularly, lose excess weight, and consider the use of medications based on your degree of pain." ~ Daniel O. Clegg
