Review of Gettin' Older

Gettin' Older - how cute and I can relate (I am 67). Love the pic as well. You have chosen your words well. It gives a look at ourselves, with humor but still a bit of dignity. I hope this poem is a "win" but it will be a win for those of us who get to enjoy.

Sincerely,

Seabreeze

p.s. I appreciate you sending back my gps, but please keep these as you so truly deserve them.

Very nice poem. I like the words selected, especially "..memories, bitter-sweet, of love's heat, still warm even from the past. Oh I can drug up some heated thoughts from your words quoted.

I wish you the best in your contest entry.

Review of Wisdom
Review by Seabreeze
Rated: 13+ | (5.0)
Love your poem on Wisdom. I like how each line of the stanza starts and the selection of words shows your wisdom acquired. Is wisdom hope, fear and regret? I believe it does include hope, and with wisdom maybe we learn to fear less and, for me, there is some regret of the past. But, regret, I believe, is healthy. Hopefully we will not repeat the same mistakes.

Great post,
Thanks,
Seabreeze

As I get older, I have my days, and I can understand the words placed here. Lost my husband to cancer a few years ago and it was all I could do to watch him going through pain. The words ring true to the pain that accompany the aging and the sick.

Great writing,

Wow, this says a lot about a dark situation. I hope it does not still linger. It has been said well and flows well. Words chosen have well been selected to get your message across.

Best to you my fellow writing friend.

Oh please save it. I am just getting comfortable with it and, I do believe, it serves a purpose. Need more votes? I believe more pauses are needed in most of the speech I hear and probably most of the written dialogue. The problem is most people don't write letters anymore. It seems were are in a world of "short cuts". Language has been abbreviated all most to the point of oblivion.

Anyways, cool thread.

I really like this; what a cute story and I love the way you have put it to rhyme. This is a wonderful story also to help children understand about adoption. I have two granddaughers (5, 3 year old) - they will love this.

Thanks for your creations.

Do you give clues?

I like the flow of the words but I am at a loss....but that is just me. If I were to guess...death plays a big part and mental illness? No offense intended.

Enjoyed my read,

Nice writing. It is always interesting to read how others got involved in writing. Your story brings, to surface, some good thoughts and some not so good. I come with so similar baggage but, I also find that Writing, com has pull a lot out of me that I didn't even know I had.

I want to say congrats on winning first place in "Contest of Firsts". I am sure I will see more of your creations as time goes on.

The best to you in your continued success.

Well this took my heart. I says a lot about a feeling I have right now for a certain guy. I especially like the title, which is what brought me to read it. I like the way you cleverly brought the two together...very nicely done.

Also, let me say welcome newbie. I will be back to see more of your creations.

Thanks for the entertainment,

Great writing but so sorry for your loss. You do have a talent and I wish you the best in all that you do.

I was reminded of my childhood. My folks built a house on 8 acres and we had a cow, pigs, dogs, cat and I had a pet goat. Doesn't sound like much but he was special. I would go out to the corral and he would great me. I would run one end of the corral and he would run that direction. It was crazy. I didn't even know I had a pet until I noticed his patterns. However, one day when coming home from school, my mom told me that my pet goat got out and eat something poisonous that killed him. It really destroyed for week. I also lost a dog to a car hitting him. There is no doubt that we love our pets and it is very hard when they leave us.

I will be back to read some more of your creations.

This is an excellent analogy of what our lives are like and how better to say, "yes it is worth it".

You are captured all the feelings and displayed it well it your lines. I so have enjoyed reading it. I am so glad I was able to read this nice piece of work.

Review of Smile
Review by Seabreeze
Rated: E | (5.0)
Very nice acrostic for the word smile. I could see this with a happy face just above it. It could be a cute cover for a book of poems for children.

I light magic in its giving as, I believe, smiles are like that. When we think about it, if someone smiles at you it is hard not to return one back.

Thanks,

Seabreeze

Review of A Clown

Always loved clowns. This is very nice. It describes the clown as we kids have all known of them. The smile, the tear, the sad face and when they must go, it is sad just like when the circus leaves town.

I enjoyed reading,
