L'aura del campo. A breeze in the meadow. So it began the last day of Spring, 2005; on the 16th day of the month of Light of the year 162. This is a supplement to my daily journal written to a friend, my muse; notes I do not share. Here I will share what the breeze has whispered to me.

QPdoll I pack my trauma and take it with me thinking I've left the unhappiness behind. It doesn't quite work that way. I know I'm learning a lot right now. Some of it isn't fun.

Life is so short. I've learned that, but I don't know that I've learned to be happy where I'm at. I sometimes forget all the blessings I have and yearn for what I don't have.

~~ BKCompton ~~ even ~~ keeled It also provides some alliteration. So important for me to use poetic techniques. Only 40 words = 49-ish syllables.

That said... short poems/prose with restrictions forces the writer to become inventive with word choice and word order.

Short forms seem to suit my short attention span!

🌻 pwheeler ~ love joy peace The big festivals begging for the Return of Rain are coming up next month. For now we snooze and try not to exert ourselves... the air is that bad. Chang Mai was #5 worse AQ in the world this week. Udon is bad. Weak sun, orange sun, grey pall... covers all.

April is the hot dry month. More analogous to August in Japan, I believe.

🌻 pwheeler ~ love joy peace Somehow it flowed and was less than 50 words so it was easy to snip. There are many prompts that leave me gasping for air.

kingoffjer As soon as I had the image of a two-way highway I was good to go. Analogies must be obvious as 40 words doesn't allow for explanation. I was happy with this one. 1st person makes it more personal and in-your-face. Fortunately, it works with this piece.
